The Village Restaurant in Dumfries & Galloway

Had a lovely stay at Hetland Hall. The room was wonderful, huge and spotlessly clean. All the staff were very friendly and helpful and the food was very nice and served promptly. The grounds are lovely. Would definitely recommend staying here, we will certainly be returning.

Great location and facilities for wedding.Meals good quality and served quickly. Had brilliant time (again!). Was surprised to be served gin and tonics in Tennents lager glasses all day long. - apparently staff were not allowed to serve drinks in gin bowls. Need more staff at busy functions though.

The dining experience was not good. After 4 attempts to order a bottle of red wine I had to accept the house red as none of the previous choices were available. This was for £40 bottles of wine. Then the steak burger arrived looking and tasting like it had been cooked yesterday. But the beef steak pie was excellent according to my dinner guest. At least the wine was complimentary at the end of the day and the service was VERY attentive. I will NOT be back anytime soon.

Absolutely stunning. Staff very accommodating & couldn't have been any more helpful. Excellent spacious rooms and verygood food. Will definitely be staying here when in the Dumfries area. Would like to keep it a secret though as want to make sure they have a room when I need it.

Very picturesque location situated just 10 minutes from Dumfries. Suitable for large family gatherings and service is exemplary. All rooms are ensuite although no mini bar. Service enabled via bedside phone. Restaurant serves first class food and breakfast is included in price.

Beautiful hotel, with a gorgeous spacious room. Friendly staff and good food. However a 13th birthday party was held at the hotel and the kids were left to run riot across the hotel until 5am! Screaming, slamming doors and running around the corridors every few minutes passed our room. Neither of us could sleep and even after 2 calls to reception the hotel didn't stop them. The receptionist in the morning was lovely and apologetic but the point of a hotel is too sleep!

Lovely 3 night stay in the Eden suite for our wedding in Scotland. Room was perfect. We had a private meal booked in the copper suite for a total of 17 people after our wedding and it was perfect. Maggie who works here is a great asset who goes above and beyond, she really did make our stay feel so special.

Lovely 2 night stay, been here several times. Rooms and food top class. Staff are an asset to the hotel, very polite and approachable. Hotel set in a lovely setting. Looking forward to our next stay there.

We had a lovely 2 night stay. Regular Rad hotel customers, we had never stayed at this hotel and decided to book a break before I went into hospital for major surgery. Every single member of staff from reception to Housekeeping staff were so helpful and could not di enough for us. We were in room 101 disabled access and it was the most beautiful room. We had plenty of room to move about with my husbands wheelchair and my crutches. It had a fantastic shower and rails to hold onto and staff brought us an extra seat to seat for lower down in shower. Although there was a seat attached to the wall. Absolutely stunning hotel and the food in the Copper Beech restaurant, was absolutely amazing. We had items from both the vegan menu and a la carte. The food was delicious and we probably ate too much. We had a look at the wedding reception venue as it was already set up for a wedding the next day, as my daughter is getting married later in the year. It looked absolutely stunning. With the most beautiful chandeliers on the stairway and all over the hotel, you cant help taking photos of this beautiful hotel. Highly recommend a stay in hotel and the disabled access room with every need taken care of.

Stayed at Hetland Hall for two nights. The hotel is well located and signposted. Plenty of parking. The front end staff were very friendly and professional. Rooms modern, clean and well facilitated. Copper Beech restaurant food was a high standard and promptly served. Waiting staff very friendly and professional. Breakfast was excellent, plenty of selection and staff very helpful. Would definitely recommend.
