Francos in Scottish Borders

One of the best restaurants to try authentic Italian food. Very good ambience, welcoming staff, dine with a view and the Italian wine. Finish it with any of their desserts and a coffee.

Great experience all around. Food was great, the pizza crust was amazing! But the best part was the customer service- the manager/owner was extremely attentive, exceptionally thoughtful. We were a big rambunctious table of 8, with 4 kids 4 and under. The kids ate every single bite, the platters were served so thoughtfully for the kids, and so quickly!! I especially appreciated that they served our starving kids first, and even opened the restaurant slightly early just to accommodate us. We didn't get to properly thank all the staff- the amazing waitresses, the manager, everyone- but I hope they read this and know how much we appreciate making us all feel so welcome. I would HIGHLY recommend this restaurant to anyone wanting delicious food, and a warm, welcome environment.

We came here twice whilst mountain biking and amazing food, and Franco is a really nice chap with good wine knowledge and recommendations plus he likes his road biking. Recommended and will visit again when next up this way.

At the end of main street and a quaint entrance, we were really surprised when we got upstairs. Nice atmosphere and great Italian selection. Owner was very friendly and staff welcoming. We managed to get seated just before a rush of guests arrived and enjoyed pizzas and desserts. Will return again

An abundance of atmosphere and great food. My husband's pizza was reportedly amazing. I wish I'd gone for that over my clam and pasta special, which was exactly the sum of its ingredients.

Ate here on a Sunday lunchtime. I'd booked a table for six people as I wasn't sure how busy it would be. Glad to say it wasn't busy so needn't have booked but as my party were travelling a distance to meet up in Peebles it was better to be safe than sorry.The menu was quite varied and the staff were very helpful and gladly accepted requests to alter the standard choices on the menu. The food was delicious and very tasty.Overall it was a great place for meeting up with my family to chat and catch up, without needing to shout above piped music, after the Covid enduced separations. I would recommend Franco's and would eat here again when I'm in Peebles.

Lovely authentic Italian food at affordable prices, served by friendly staff. We will definitely be back to Franco's next time we come to Peebles. So good that our 9 year old son wants us to drive the 7 hours north from our home to come back for another meal 👏

Second visit, first experience was good, second visit memorable for all the wrong reasons. Seafood cocktail tasteless, pork escalope all breadcrumbs and very thin pork. House wine was good. Will not be back for a third Visit. If it was Franco that served us he needs to work on his customer service skills.

Lovely warm and welcoming atmosphere - the black truffle ice cream and the tiramisu desserts were excellent. The owner is genuine and lovely, the waitress was knowledgable and great at recommending dishes for us.
