Room in serious need of makeover. Bare patches on carpet. Nice food, service was adequate but not great. One room issued already had people in it and my nice walked in in someone changing. The spa was poor not worth the money. If its a relaxing spa break you're looking for here is not your place.

Would have enjoyed it more, but couldn't get booked into the spa and the pool was full of families playing. The room was mediocre, with missing bulbs, no hairdryer, only a so so mattress. Bathroom was nice, and restaurant food was very good, but morning coffee was appalling.

What a lovely Hotel we were greeted by a very polite and smart receptionist our Room was so large and bed so comfortable, the Spa looked busy with nice staff. Dinner and breakfast were both delicious. Clean, easy access. Want to go again.

Friendly staff however felt treated differently as we were visiting using an itison voucher. Waited almost an hour after out main course to be served our desert which we ordered at the same time as our main. Others around us had starter and main in this time. When we'd finished and heading back to our room the waiter ran after us as if we'd slipped the silverware into our pockets, only to ask "should I charge the drinks to your room?" They had my card details and my room number, could he not have asked when serving or just charged to the room without having to ask? Leisure facilities were good and a very scenic location. ÂŁ6 for a pint. Would visit again but only on a deal.

Very over priced food and drink. £9.50 for a glass of wine….Hotel rooms very run down with no cups for coffee, not hand wash, no body wash, no hair dryer, mirror hanging off wall.Room wasn’t cleaned during our stay, no fresh towels.Called reception several times with no answer.Feel like we were ignored during our stay wasn’t even asked how our stay was when checking out.( don’t accept cash either)We got married here in 2017 and it’s went very downhill.Won’t be back again unfortunately.

The shower was freezing cold and breakfast the next morning, I was told we would be served eventually! After many members of staff ignored us in the restaurant. The breakfast was an hour and ten mins later and looked awful poached egg it was boiled! Beans lucky if there was a teaspoon per plate! Coffee seemed to be a hassle to provide and when we complained only got an apology! Booked a pedicure now it was £37 included file polish scrub and some cuticle work. Now I’m a beauty therapist and for a four star hotel to be offering Elemis treatments you would expect a selection of polish I was handed a basket of old polish that had been there for years! The girl was lovely couldn’t fault her but had no training yet and had only been there a month! When reading some reviews this hotel is described as basic yet advertises as 4 star! You want 4 star do not stay here!

Enjoyed our stay, staff were very pleasant and friendly. Rooms were a good size although could do with being updated a bit tired looking especially some of the carpets in the rooms.Food was excellent and the spa was really good.

·

Attentive staff, great service. The right level of attentiveness from the staff here, not bothering you but making sure you’re all happy.Ideally located for the local forestry centres. Popular with golfers.Rooms are a little tired, overall a pleasant stay - happy to recommend and will be returning.

Hotel was a little tired, but clean and comfortable. Food was very nice, especially the breakfast. My compliments to the golf pro. He was an absolute gentleman, bearing in mind the shocking state of the greens. The golf should be suspended until something can be done to make the greens acceptable. Still enjoyed the 3 days.

Stayed just the one night and the room was light & airy facing onto the golf course and hills. Very quiet and peaceful. Menu for evening meal rather limited. Breakfast was good and all staff pleasant & helpful.
