We had a most comfortable and enjoyable stay here. Our room was very good, and Breakfast was great, freshly prepared and well presented. Thank You!

Really accommodating staff, great food, huge portions!

Called in here for a drink in the bar. The hotel is in beautiful location at the end of the Pennine Way and access to St Cuthbert Way. The staff are friendly and the bar is clean and inviting.

We don't usually post negative reviews as prefer to give benefit of doubt to the establishment. We had dinner last night at Border Hotel after a recommendation from a neighbour. Sadly disappointed - the table was sticky ie not cleaned to standard. My little 20cl bottle of prosecco was not chilled, ie tasted lukewarm towards the end. My lamb burger was overcooked ie almost cremated. My partner's chicken burger was cold and the liquid from the peppers seeped into the bottom of the rustic roll making it totally unpalatable. Our chips were on the cusp of undercooked. I chose not to complain as felt my serving was just about consumable. However, my partner complained. His meal was taken away to be replaced. But to our amazement, he was then told that the chef felt the chicken burger was cooked as well as should be. He was offered a replacement, but declined as still in shock over what we were told. We eat out regularly and don't leave negative reviews as a personal kindness to the establishment. However I feel upon refection that it's sufficiently important for hygiene and customer service reasons that I leave this review with the hope for improvement. I would have given zero stars sadly if that were an option.

The staff were great, very friendly and accommodating. Honestly, I didn't think the food was that great and also expensive. I stayed in a single room and was very happy with it. There was a shower and bath ensuite and the bed was comfy.

Some of the best pub food we have had for ages. First class service, mouth watering food. Well worth a try.

Delicious Sunday lunch. Staff so friendly. They always make a fuss of our dog.

·

Fantastic hotel, pub, restaurant. Stayed here last year at the end of our Pennine Way adventure and came back to revisit the memories. Great food, service, ambiance and location

·

All hotel/pubs should be run as well as the Borders Hotel, the staff are friendly and very helpful, the locals are too! First class food and very reasonable prices.

We were at the pub today for lunch and had a great meal. The lady that served us was very friendly. Good selection of beers and food!
