The Capon Tree Town House in Scottish Borders

Fantastic food, excellent flavours and taste, portion size was spot on, staff were absolutely outstanding and drinks especially cocktails were beautiful, what a lovely place highly recommend 😀

Was absolutely delighted to find our town has this absolute gem. Great food, high end vibes in the restaurant (but not crazy prices at all) and then also a more relaxed bar next door for pre/post drinks. Perfect night out.

Where indeed is the Michelin star or at the least a Bib Gourmand. The food at the Capon Tree is excellent - outstanding. The cooking is superb and the presentation delightful. Shame the Good Food Guide has gone - the Capon Tree would rate highly. Well done the chef.

Had dinner there last night with my wife. Friendly and efficient service with beautifully tasty food!!

Where's the Michelin star? The food here is first class and there's an excellent and unusual wine list curated by the restaurants own very knowledgeable sommelier, whose recommendations for food pairing are very well worth listening to. And they have well presented rooms upstairs so that couples may retire after a good meal with no arguments over who's driving. We'll certainly be visiting the Capon Tree again.

Excellent Restaurant with rooms.(3 only)Stayed 1 night in superior room which was very comfortable and while they do not do cooked breakfast, provided an ideal continental breakfast basket. Had a first-class meal in their fine dining restaurant where they use the best of local ingredients, cooked and presented to very high standard.

The food was delicious. The service was excellent. A new waitress served us on her first night of working here, she did really well. The chef here serves top quality food.
