Stopped off on our way to a Rotary District conference at Dalmahoy from (the now famous Barnard Castle!) And five of us had a lovely sandwich etc lunch. The chips were heavenly. Superb swift service. David from Barney

What a great pub. Good choise of beers and food very tasty. We had a dog with us, even though they didn't allowed them in they still accommodated us since we went early.

A very warm and friendly welcome awaits, the food is always very good and it has a good, old fashioned pub atmosphere.

Superb little pub in the Scottish Borders. Stopped off for lunch and the food was fantastic. The staff very polite as well. If you are like me and love a bit of history then the Jedburgh Abbey is right across the road.

If you're thirsty in the Scottish Borders you can go here. Except for the days that the Heineken is off. Which is a shame, I fancied a Heineken. The disappointment was crushing. Instead I had a pint of San Miguel. It was cloudy and sour. At this point I totally gave up on life and all I believed in. Had a pint of something else, the trauma had ruined my mind but it was fine. Nice pub tho.

Solid pub, nice ambience and particularly cozy on a cold windy day. You can visit with children and they've got a food menu and the staff were very accommodating.

From 1st impressions when we entered we were greeted warmly by a waitress/ bar person shown a 2 seat table in the bar asked if we wanted drinks and given the menu, ordered drinks and food, fish, chips and peas which came with small mixed salad and Tartare sauce, now we would like to say the meals were excellent, the fish was very moist and the batter not swimming in grease, no rock hard chips all very enjoyable to the extent couples asked if we knew anywhere to get a meal, without hesitating we pointed them to Carters. If you read your reviews thanks for lovely lunch.

Cosy restaurant/bar in Jedburgh that offers good value meals. We liked the taste of the items we had ordered. We went on a midweek during a quiet late afternoon and service was reasonably quick. Serving staff was friendly.
