Where is The Gordon Arms?

🏠 The Gordon Arms, Yarrow, Valley, Selkirk TD7 5LE

"Welcome to the Gordon Arms Restaurant with Rooms, an old historic coaching inn nestling in the beautiful Yarrow Valley near St Mary’s Loch in the Scottish Borders. It was a favourite haunt of James Hogg, Sir Walter Scott and even Robert Burns was said to have stopped here. We offer cosy and comfortable en-suite rooms and delicious food with a minimum of fuss and maximum flavour. Bookings highly recommended. The Gordon Arms Restaurant with Rooms opens on the 15th of April 2022 under the new ownership of Bryn and Oxana Jones."

First class service and excellent food at a reasonable price. We will be back

Reasonably priced, clean accommodation but what makes this place is the fabulously warm welcome, including for dogs. Great food in the restaurant and super cooked breakfasts available. Remote and lovely!

·

Lovely pub in a fabulous scenery. Lovely atmosphere and very nice waiters. The food was delicious. Will definitely come back when passing. Thank you to the patient waiter, how taught us how to properly pronounce Hawick 🙈

Lovely rural hotel with very friendly staff, Accommodation you can't ask for any more you get what it says on the tin so to speak. We had a social evening of 20 people; plus with other guests enjoying a excellent food in a warm cosy surroundings.

If this pub was in a town with lots of competition, it probably wouldn't fare too well but given that it's in the middle of nowehere, I have to give them credit. We booked and pre-ordered and everything was ready when we arrived. Only 1 real ale but perfectly palatable.. Food was only average but served its purpose. Waiter was good fun.

Top quality establishment.Staff are warm, friendly and welcoming, even to a trio of hairy arsed Geordie bikers, top banter.Very happy to see Covid-19 precautions are taken seriously by the proprietors, track & trace, forehead temp checked and masks. 👏🏻👏🏻👍🏻Food was delicious. Can't wait to return.

Great food but most of all very friendly staff. We so enjoyed our visit.

Called here for dinner without a booking and was delighted they managed to find us a table. It was comforting too, that on arrival, we had our temperature taken and an insistence on mask wearing on entry and if you moved around the restaurant. The food was very good, including their home made soup starter and I have to mention the Apple crumble and custard dessert. It was delicious! I have to say, if you are in the Yarrow Valley, phone ahead and book a table here. You will not be disappointed.

Lovely friendly and attentive staff. Beautiful home cooked food. Can't rate this little pub highly enough and we will definately be returning.

One night’s stay on our way back from Edinburgh on a cycling trip. Secure bike storage in garden shed. The pub/hotel is in a stunning location, quite isolated. We had a small double room which was very comfortable and with all facilities. Complementary tea, coffee, biccies and bottled water. Food was excellent, and we chose to eat in the pleasant bar area rather than the separate restaurant. One local cask beer was on offer when we stayed. The bar clientele was a mixture of locals and a group of walkers also staying over. The cooked breakfast was possibly the best of our trip. C19 precautions taken very seriously - you can feel confident if concerned. We’ll almost certainly be back when we walk the Southern Uplands Way and, although slightly off the route, the Gordon Arms offers a free shuttle service to and from the nearest point on the walk. A very good place to stay.
