Service was very good, food was nice. Little bit pricey overall but we did have a few drinks. Would happily go back.

Waitress was nice, service was quite slow. Fish was good as expected. Gammon was salty but nice in parts. Thinnest slice of pineapple ever seen. Chips were ok. Mains were £13.50 each. Desserts were the big let down. Pricey at £6.50 each. Fruit crumble served in a tiny cup type bowl with thin unimpressive custard.Roulade was actually 1 meringue nest with a blob of ice cream and a few raspberries smothered in squirty cream (which i loathe) and drizzled with some nasty cheap red dessert sauce. Not a cheap place to eat, I expected better quality for the price.

Stopped there on the way from Newcastle to Loch Lomond, looking for somewhere to have lunch where dogs are allowed. They have a separate room for guests with dogs, staff were all very friendly and helpful, and the food was delicious!

Fantastic little gem of a pub. Staff are welcoming, friendly and accommodating (especially to dietary requirements). The atmosphere is warm and enjoyable, the drinks selection is excellent and the food is homemade and delicious. Cannot fault it, will definitely return.

Popped in with our dog for light snack for lunch...couldn't have been made feel more welcome...food great..open fire and nice pint

Ooh, visited whilst on holiday. Ordered some food and it was excellent. Nice portion and wonderfully cooked. Not long to wait, lovely drop of wine and, i think, very friendly staff. It's definitely a place to revisit if I'm in the area again. You won't be disappointed here!

Friendly staff and good service, my main and the kids meals could of done with a bit more colour to be more pleasing to the eye, suggest peas or more salad, (cheap if left by the kids). Saying that the meal was good and sweets were thoroughly enjoyed. A good night. X

Fantastic place, VERY dog friendly!!The service was brilliant, all the staff were really happy to help.Food was great, really good value. We had the Steak and ale pie and the Highlander Chicken and both were lovely. The beef in the pie melted in your mouth and the chips were the best I've had in a long while.We ordered 2 sausages for our dog too and they were gone in seconds.

Ok pub in a quaint border village. Not over priced and food quality ok.
