Sat outside in lovely sunshine for a late lunch. Very polite and friendly staff. Menu was quite varied and reasonably priced given the location right in the heart of the harbour. We chose two different types of burgers and a bowl of mussels. All meals were served with very nicely cooked and flavoured chips. Food wasn't rushed out but not a long wait either, served on well heated plates/bowls. All dishes were well presented and tasted great but the mussels were exceptional. Could have done with a slice of crusty bread to soak up all the white wine sauce. Highly recommend.

This place is truly fantastic! The atmosphere is classy yet relaxed, the staff were friendly and helpful and the food was phenomenal. A wonderful experience from beginning to end. I will definitely be going back!

While they had lost our reservation for Sunday lunch, they managed to fit us in, which was great. It was bustling, and the service was frustratingly slow, taking about 45 minutes to get drinks. Food was reasonable, although I'm used to getting a finger bowl when eating moules. Sticky toffee pudding could have done with either a bit more ice cream or cream. Chocolate milk shake was good

Visited The Hive while we were in the local area. Service was generally OK but slow at times and not as attentive as we would have liked. Great selections of drinks (including milkshakes!) so can't complain there. However my main meal was a let down I had the Slow cooked Welsh beef brisket and I was bitterly disappointed, it was dry and lacked any real flavor, myself and friends all said it tasted like corned beef as I thought maybe I was being fussy. Certainly not worth it in my opinion.I did comment when asked how it was and was told "sorry to hear that", by no means was I expecting any action however I feel that the Kitchen should know to improve for next time.Pudding was OK but had to wait for nearly 15 mins before anyone took our order, and when it was taken it then took over 15 mins for 2 sundaes. Although that being said the size of a single sundae would easily cater for 2 people as they are huge.

Fabulous food and great cocktails. Decor very modern but still settle enough to be part of beautiful marina that Hive is based on.

Mixed feelings about The HiveVenue is beautiful, drinks very good.Starters were lovely but mains were underwhelmingBrisket fajitas were ok nothing special. My friend had slow cooked brisket which was awful. It was like it has been boiled, dry and no flavour at all. Considering the price I would have expected something more.

Excellent ice cream. Good range of flavours too. There is apparently an inside as well as an outside section but we were there on a sunny day and we say outside job done nearby benches. You have a good range of choice of you want tub or cone, whippy or scoop. At the time I went 3 schools were £5 but the scope were generous and the cover was large.Would definitely go back!

Incredible food and a lovely peaceful location in the harbour. The honey ice cream is delicious too and you get such a big serving. Highly recommended.

Came here for breakfast, WOW!Ordered two "HIVE" breakfasts. Bacon sausage, egg, hash brown, beans, mushrooms,. Toast, black pudding, tea or coffee. One veggie breakfast. Mushrooms, tomatoes, two hash browns, toast, beans, two eggs, tea or coffee. One croissant with butter and jam. And a hot chocolate. It is not the cheapest breakfast you will find but the QUALITY and SERVICE shows why that is. Absolutely brilliant. It certainly is high quality produce, very well cooked and presented. Staff were friendly and attentive. Will certainly be back again.

Visited twice during our holiday. Had a great lunch with great service. Based on this came back for an evening meal and thus was spoiled by awful service - so slow bearing in mind that it wasn't that busy and we'd all ordered burgers... felt deserted by the staff, had to chase them to pay & break them up chatting!Burgers once they came were nice but the service would make me think about a return visit - especially with other good options around it.
