We asked a local chap if the food was all right and he said it's great and he wouldn't eat anywhere else. He's was right, we had a lovely meal, the service was very polite and the locals chatty. I highly recommend the Black Lion , can't fault it .

Great food really large portions at reasonable prices for a hotel / restaurant.Did not stay there just went for a meal and a few drinks.Staff very attentive .

We didn't stay, just went for dinner. Had a few vegan options, we had the burger, but it'd be nice to have a few more! Service was okay, but one of the waiters spent most of his time chatting to some friends who were eating there, leaving the waitresses to handle all the other tables.Lovely atmosphere and good food!

Unfortunately did not stay there but the restaurant and staff are absolutely great, fantastic food, great portions and a wonderful experience. Highly recommend.

Staff were fantastic. Very welcoming. I fancied 2 starters instead of a main ..The soup was lovely...the camenbert was slightly over done. Hubby had faggerts which were a little dry but came with a huge pile of chips. Very dog friendly, offered us bowls of water for them . Would return again.

Overnight stop .. good location, lovely biking roads around the area ( motor version) .Staff were excellent, food ( evening meal and breakfast) was good.Ensuite was dainty, floor a little slippery I fell after my shower this morning.

We had food here as a large party of 18, we were requested to pre-order our food. The staff were very attentive, super organised couldn't, couldn't do any more for us and even gave the bride to be a free drink!

Came here for dinner on Valentines night. Staff was very accommodating, food was lovely and the set menu was really good value. So good came back and took my mum for lunch the next day. Staff was all very warm and welcoming on both occasions
