Great location and huge, delicious breakfast. Room ok but floor was a bit dirty when we arrived.

Location is good, sited close to other restaurants and bars but I am afraid that is where the positivity ends.Upon arrival, I was told that they were just about to close the hotel (I arrived at 19.00). There was no mention when booking that arrival had to be before this time. Within 5 minutes of being given our keys and shown how to get to the rooms, the staff locked up and left the hotel. This meant that any issues could not be rectified. Although a contact number as given. The bedroom appeared clean but that was until I entered the bathroom. There was black mould on the ceiling above the shower area which was not new and had been building up for some time. This made the whole room feel dirty and unloved. Luckily I was only staying one night as that was enough. To make matters worse, the room cost £125 per night which I feel was not reasonable and severely overpriced. I am sure there are plenty of other hotels to stay at in the area at a more reasonable price. The hotel was very quiet. I can only presume we were the only people there. On check out, again hotel staff were not present so I had no ability to express my concerns.I would not recommend this hotel to others. I dont often leave reviews but in this case I felt I needed to.

Simple easy and convenient. Aberaeron is beautiful. Great hotel for a base. Staff were wonderful.

The main land lady was rude not saying hello or thankyou for our business and also smelt offensive

Terrible! I’m awfully disappointed as a local and a regular customer. This evening, I was told that they were too busy to serve me a drink and we should leave. Too busy?! It really wasn’t, as there was plenty of space and available seats to sit around at the bar. Only when I questioned this, we were told that we could sit outside. To make matters worse, we were told with such a stinking and filthy attitude! Never again will I spend any of my money with you and I will advise others against visiting too.

A great selection of ales, lagers etc. Very friendly owners and staff. It has a beautiful looking, cosy interior too.I don't know what the rooms are like because I live in Aberaeron and have no need to stay in the hotel part.

Terrible attitude from the female staff members - we only wanted a drink and they had lot free tables; our entrance was greeted with a pleasant “we haven’t got anything for you right know”. They obviously don’t want income - perhaps they don’t need it? Who knows but what ever it is they don’t deserve to be owners of a pub with a closed restaurant on Friday evening. Don’t bother.

I will start by saying this review could and should have been different. It is a real shame after the really great and friendly service given by most of the staff and the lovely breakfast. All staff were really nice but....We had a booking of 8 people at a cost of over £1000In the family party was an 80+ year old lady and an a person with Motor Neurone. On arrival we dropped two of the party outside while the rest went to park cars and carry the bags.On arrival at the desk we were greeted by - "is she with you" in an unpleasant tone. Pointing to my mother.Followed by further rudeness we were told to stand at another part of the bar to check in. Then shouted at for taking up space (the place was empty). Not the welcome you want after a long drive but too late to walk out.The next day we dropped the two members of the family at the tables outside the hotel while the cars were taken to the town carpark. The same unpleasant woman came marching out and said they could not sit there. In the process really making them feel uncomfortable. They explained they were guests and waiting for the rest of the party. They got a lecture about taking up seats and losing them money! We caught up and ordered drinks but got a really frosty face in return. While there another large family group arrived and sat at a few of the empty tables. The Woman came out and gave them a lot of aggression because one and moved a chair. They understandably got up and left. Comically, a lone woman drinking at another table piped up in a rough voice "You tell em Rachel"Four other people who had been waiting to be served but ignored while she talked to friends also got up and left voicing their displeasure. So our message to the great staff, apologies for the one star as your efforts were appreciated. You are losing a lot of money and credibility at the hands of one hostile member of your team.I fully expect Rachel to read this and make up excuses for her behaviour but the pattern of other reviews says it all.Had it not been for the one person our review would have been 5 stars.A sign in the bar area warns visitors not to be aggressive to staff. It should read do not be upset by the aggressive staff.Prisoner Cell Block H springs to mind...

A nice room, good breakfast. But, and quite a big but - the fire alarm went off at around midnight on our first night. We evacuated the building and waited for the keyholder. (No staff in building overnight. ) She arrived after about half an hour and rather grumpily announced to ALL of us standing on the pavement, "Someone been smoking in their room then?" Quite possibly but not all of us, who were standing outside in the cold and paying for the privilege. Perhaps a free breakfast by way of apology? No, nothing. Not impressed.

Good hotel, great location. Unfortunately we had no hot water, but we were offered another room to shower the following morning when staff were present.Good breakfast. The walls of our room were thin and could hear next doors conversations clearly. We were given a £30 discount for the issues though, staff/ owner very friendly.
