Great lunch venue especially outside if the weather is good. Good quality food for the price and parking round the back.

Booked through Great Little Breaks. Very pleasant and helpful staff. Room was clean and comfortable. Bar prices similar to pubs. Food good and plenty of it. Superb garden to finish the day with a drink. Will return I'm sure.

Lovely Sunday lunch. Didn't do the menu justice as full up. Good pint of beer as well.Excellent service.

A lovely hotel, traditional but also up to date. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would definitely return. The Swan is one of those places that leave you confident that you'll be looked after. Popped in for lunch, totally unplanned just a lovely sunny day so went for a drive. A bit confusing / dull entering from the car park as was not sure where to go and there did not appear to by anyone there. Once we found our way to the back of the hotel, we found the dining room and outside seating area. A few people, like us, outside enjoying the day. Ordered the burger and bacon & brie ciabatta and it was fantastic, as was the service. Only reason not 5* was the confusion when entering. Would recommend for service & the food.

We were in room no.6 and found this to be a lovely, well presented room. Large window was open when we arrived, made the room smell fresh and even though it faced the main street it was extremely quiet all night. Staff that served us were both friendly yet professional and never stopped from afternoon though to the evening. Evening meal was delicious and of ample quantity. Cold breakfast was limited but the hot breakfast was perfectly cooked. Location is excellent with instant access to local walks. Will be returning to same hotel when next in the area.

Went on the Monday after the Hay festival. Staff were excellent, after a busy festival week it a pleasant surprise that they were able to so good. Food was exceptional too. Thank you.

Just a quick stop in the sunny gardens for a drink on the way back from the Hay Festival, friendly staff. Didn't stay in the hotel so can't rate the rooms.

We book a few days in advance as there were 12 of us, when we arrived we were put on two completely separate tables. Our food was pre-ordered (as requested by the hotel) but it arrived almost as soon as we sat down so we felt rushed. The food was nice but we didn't feel overly comfortable.

At this price (£155 a night for a Deluxe Room) you expect to be delighted. Unfortunately, nothing delights about the Swan.The room is disappointing. I booked three nights in a Deluxe Room as a birthday present for my wife based on the photos on the website. The room we're in (room 6) is tired and definitely not deluxe, nor like the photos on the website. It's particularly annoying since my wife phoned ahead and asked for a nice room - we weren't bothered about the view, the room itself was more important to us. The person on the phone reassured us that all the rooms are nice but there's clearly a big difference between them. A real shame because the photos look really nice.The bar areas are dull, and the dining room has no ambiance whatsoever. The food is fine but overpriced for what it is.I wonder whether the place has changed hands and is still riding on its former glory. That's the only way I can explain the prices it charges and the photos it uses. At this price, avoid it.Final edit: complained about the room to the receptionist and to the manager. We "couldn't be moved to another room because all the rooms were full as of the following day", and no money off/free dinner or anything. Because of the lack of attempt to show any kind of willing I'm giving the place one star.
