Called in for pub lunch, but was very disappointed. Very limited choice on menu, food wasn't great and it was obvious that the bar and kitchen staff were at odds. Such a shame as this is a lovely pub, but is distinctly lacking in a lot of ways. Toilets need attention. Altogether tired and lacklustre which is a shame.

Great front beer garden. Didn't realise there was a large one out back until a few weeks after visiting. Ear marked it for our next visit

A friend and I visited the Hay festival and whilst there popped into this pub for a spot of lunch and a pint. I went to use the toilet when I opened the door to go into the toilets the stench was horrendous when I went back to the bar to collect my pint I said to the person serving behind the bar that the smell was terrible in the toilets he just looked at me and said it’s a men’s toilet. We were about to order some food but cancelled it I can’t believe the attitude

Excellent food and friendly staff. This is home cooked food at its best. However the inn was nearly empty and freezing cold. (they had no wood for the fire)We would eat there again (on a warm day)

·

Friendly pub with good food including an amazing French Onion soup.Restricted menu on the say we went.

Went here for a drink and some lunch however after sitting for a long time and finished off my drink we still had no food while people all around us who had ordered after us were now eating their food. I went to the bar to ask about our order which the bar person went to see what had happened, within seconds the food came out and l felt a little stupid but however it was the wrong food which we didn't order. The bar person then offered us a free drink as an apology this did help and eventually we got our food.

Reasonably priced pub food fare. We visited on a busy Saturday and were warned by the staff it might be half an hour before the food was ready. When it did arrive it was hot and tasty. The fish and chips were good and the our of the day (chicken) was excellent.

Had a fantastic meal there. Very accommodating, especially as one of our party had food intolerances. The waiter was really friendly and helpful and couldn't do enough for us. Met the chef, who was lovely, and who cooked the food to perfection. Prefect medium rare steaks. Would highly recommend. 😊

Kilverts is a family run establishment in Hay on Wye in the centre of town. This is a excellent hostelry which thoughtfully caters for all tastes and requirements. A fine selection of beverages, good food, reasonably priced rooms and extensive facilities for all guests to enjoy. Wood burner stove for those chilly nights and outside heating on the patio area. A function room and a large beer garden to the rear of the premises. Hosts Sheila, Bob and daughter Alex provide a warm welcome to visitors ( and dogs receive extra special attention)! ; their staff are friendly, efficient and pleasant. With much gratitude for outstanding service, this establishment provides a great experience for locals and visitors alike. Thank you guys.xx

Went for a meal here and was quite disappointed. Firstly we arrived at midday and asked for the food menu, told they did not start taking orders until 12.30 which was ok! Then at 12.40 told they would not be taking orders until 1.00pm so by the time we got our food it was 1.45pm! Both meals cost £12 each which we thought was a bit pricey for Fish, Chips and Peas, and Pie, New Potatoes and Veg. We found the fish and chips to be quite greasy, and the pastry on the pie was very hard to cut through although the pie was very tasty. It gets 2 stars because it was a nice pint of IPA.
