Kwai Chin Newtown in Powys

We were ordering food regularly since we moved to Newtown 2 years ago. The food was really good, always nice portions and high quality food and full of flavour, it was highly recommended.Now since maybe 6 months every time we ordered something it was worse and worse. Today we ordered and the food was not seasoned, they watered down the sauce, in egg fried rice there was no egg at all. Raw veg in our meals, just sad how they’re ruining their food and dropping the standards. I will never come back again, I’m sure that my friends and family will do the same.

One word I will use” shocking”! And I don’t mean that in a good way! I have had many Chinese food in my time. But this by far is the worst.

Enjoyed takeaway here while on holiday nearby. Food was really tasty, had king prawns with bamboo shoots and water chestnut & the wife had chicken with ginger and spring onion crab & sweetcorn soup. The staff are so helpful and welcoming, and food was still hot after our 15 min drive back to the cottage. Busy and extremely popular which told us the food was good ......and it was.

By far the best Chinese food I've ever had, and I've been to at least 40 Chinese takeaways. Brilliant menu, really fast and friendly service.I recommend the crispy beef pekingese style, and the duck in plum sauce.This is more than 5 x as good as the next best Chinese takeaway in Newtown. If this is closed, have beans on toast!

Brilliant as usual. I think this is the best Chinese takeaway in Wales. Lovely family who run it always cheerful and helpful to their customers food is always very tasty and fresh. 5 stars Kwai Chin!!

Went here tonight as we're in lodge late and didn't bring much food till tomorrow ,Absalutely discussing , had to bin the foodFrozen chipsSalt and pepper chicken like cardboard and seasoned with powder ( no oil, peppers or onions )Kung Po chicken was like gloop , fried drive was cold

The food was ok. Some dishes lacking in flavour and seemed similar to other dishes. They only take cash too unfortunately.

Best Chinese in Mid-Wales!I've been going to the Kwai Chin for many years and I have to say the food and service is spot on every time. If you like a particular meal, you're guaranteed to have it exactly the same the next time you have it.Simon the manager, always serves you in a professional and courteous manner. Food is prepared very quickly, packed with ingredients and absolutely gorgeous!Couldn't recommend this Chinese enough!There are many Chinese takeaways in Newtown but only Kwai Chin can provide a meal of this quality everytime.5* Well deserved, thank you to Simon and his team!
