Lake Country House in Powys

A wonderful stay at The Lake Country House Hotel - very friendly staff, lovely traditional feel, great facilities with the spa and pool being open to guests - take in the views of the lake from the hot tub! Rounded off with a tasty meal and a nice choice of drinks. Thanks to Luke and the team for making a super treat weekend. And if you like driving then the roads are amazing too!!

Fabulous weekend away. Amazing staff, incredibly friendly. Fabulous food. Lovely room. Only downside was the cold shower in our room however the spa made up for this.

Outstanding location, staff, food and Spa facilities. Booked for one night and stayed for two. Would certainly recommend and will certainly be back. Fab!👌

Regrettably I had a disappointing afternoon tea here. Despite being assured when I called that none of the sandwiches had meat in them, after I explained I was a pescatarian, I was presented with chicken. I was asked 3 times who I was when checking in. The scones and Welsh cakes were stale and cold, and putting food straight onto metal stands is unhygienic. As an additional point, there was no background music, so you were always conscious your conversations could be overheard. I has hoped for much more, but left feeling disappointed that so many details had been missed

Excellent service, friendly staff, delicious meal, especially the beef. Lovely relaxing atmosphere.

Stopped off for a coffee break with a group of fellow porsche owners. We were made to feel very welcome. Both the coffee and the biscuits were really good.We enjoyed a walk around the grounds to stretch our legs before continuing on our tour.

Had spa treatments and a light lunch here. The hotel has a wonderful charm and comfort factor about it. The therapists in the spa were friendly and professional and the treatments were great. Hotel staff equally friendly. A nice experience overall.

This is a quintessential country retreat hotel. It dates back to the nineteenth century, something that is quite evident in the elegant lounge and dining hall. Our room was supremely comfortable and the staff took a personal interest in us. The pool is big enough for lap swimming and the hot tub is a marvel. The hotel has spacious grounds for strolling, including (of course) a Lake.

Superb staff and a really laid-back relaxing atmosphere I love this hotel food was stunning the simple menu to avoid the fear of missing out on another great dish! Slept like a log in the most comfortable of bed and the rules were too hot

This is the best hotel we have ever stayed at in the UK. The Lake Country House and Spa are located in the most beautiful grounds and surrounding countryside of mid west Wales. Our stay was very quiet and relaxing, -for once you are not bombarded by the health sapping noise of background music. The hotel is ideal for guests who are slightly older and more upmarket and definitely not for people who need to drink enough for five and make enough noise for ten to enjoy themselves. The food, accommodation and spa are excellent. Thank you to the team for providing us with a wonderful stay. We have already booked a return visit in the Autumn/Winter.Read less
