Pen y Cae Inn in Powys

Quite a good pub food. In fact, it took nearly 40min of waiting time, even it wasn't extremely busy but nice weather and parrots outside has recompensed it. Burger was really good, so the honey pork. My only issue were the chips- hard, small bits not nice to eat. Mini zoo is also lovely addition.

A wonderful place for a stop along the way. The parrots are friendly and there are more animals to see. Proper country food and tasty. Recommended.

This is an amazing place the food is delicious very well prepared and presented me and another person had the syrup ham and the hamburger great staff just takes a minute but it's worth it.

1h for food to arrive. Bought us one dish and left to get the other one. Came back and took the food back again to give to another customer!!!! Surely that's a major health violation.Gave us two other wrong dishes that they took back. Eventually got our food. Fish was great. Burger a bit dry but good.

Fourth visit to Wales and fourth visit to the inn. As usual delicious food, the rack of lamb was great. Service was very attentive but food was tremendously slow as we waited for well over an hour to have our food on the table. As always, loved the atmosphere. Will come back.

I had been a regular visitor to this this place for 14 years. However due to Covid and illness this is the first time I've been for 30 months. I'm so glad I went, a glorious day, first having a walk round the small zoo, then on in to the Inn to be met by welcoming, professional staff, very comfortable, quirky surroundings and excellent food, my ribeye steak was cooked perfectly, lovely cheeseboard of Welsh cheeses. I will certainly be returning more often now.

Absolutely loved the Xmas dinner here. I didn't photo it though as, well it was too gorgeous and munched it straight down. Have a pic of the steak though which was the best my brother has ever had!The staff and atmosphere there is brilliant and we have already booked for next year!

Staff were really friendly, food was amazing! We sat outside so that we could be near the parrots as the children loved them. Will definitely be back

The food was really great! Very hearty pub food, exactly what we wanted after a hike. If you're getting a steak, you have to get the peppercorn sauce, it's amazing. The service was also very friendly. I would definitely want to come back here
