We stayed here for 2 nights and experienced a wonderful stay. The room was well equipped and spotless with white fluffy towels and tea/coffee making facilities. The breakfast included was perfectly home cooked with lots of choice and tasted amazing. The atmosphere in the pub and restaurant was really inviting and all the staff went to enormous effort to make our stay fantastic. The surroundings are beautiful with plenty of things to do within a short distance. Highly recommend 👌I

A very warm welcome, lovely 'local' atmosphere and a superb 'Sheppards' pie (Shepherds') an all round good experience. Good beer and service. Don't forget to visit the church next door, a real gem too.

After a good walk from Fforest Fields campsite, we arrived at this cosy pub on a bank holiday afternoon, delightfully situated on a quiet road on a hill. We had some drinks (Butty Bach on tap highly recommended) and decided to eat. Despite not having made a reservation, they managed to fit us (group of 9, including children) in. The food was fantastic, as was the atmosphere in this remote but so welcoming pub. The real stars however are the staff: friendly, welcoming and correct from start to finish. After an extended stay we decided to not walk back to Fforest Fields, but asked to phone for a taxi. After a slight pause, the barman said he will arrange something. Three cars pulled up outside and took us back. It turned out that there isn’t a taxi service around, but instead some local people from the village were phoned and drove us back. We were overwhelmed by such kindness from these sincere people from this most beautiful piece of Welsh countryside.

Popped in for a post walk drink. Everyone very chatty. Beer excellent. Booked in for tge day after for a meal. Very nice. There is a carpark but only enough for 2 cars so park prettily on the road outside. You can sit on the bench out front or out the back which isn't as salubrious but fine. Lovely cosy feel in the bar with an overflow dining area. Great village to park at and walk tge paths along the Edw River. The picture is the river 1 mile away.

A little gem to be found at the end of a small 1 street village in the Welsh mountains. We arrived slightly earlier than expected, on Saturday 5th February in pouring rain and strong winds. The landlord was welcoming and friendly and as the room was ready, he took us up. We had the 'Church' room which was spacious and airy with exposed stonework and low set dual aspect double glazed windows. Plenty of room for the king size double bed in there which had immaculate clean crisp white linen and was amazingly comfy...if a little on the creaky side! We went down to dinner where I had the lamb shank and my husband had the sirloin steak. There was a short wait but when it arrived it was one of the best meals we had had in a long time. Sian was the chef that night and for breakfast the next morning. We opted for the full breakfast. This again was of excellent quality. Although it was an inn and there was the general hum and chat from the patrons, we didn't find it overpowering and in fact I fell asleep lo g before last orders. I wouldn't hesitate to recomend this place to anyone looking for a place to stay. If you like friendly attentive staff, good food and a comfy bed...this is the place for you.

Tasty Pub grub in a lovely country setting. Loved the feel of the place, sat by the fire on a cold evening. Could have stayed for a few more drinks had we not had the car. The staff were friendly and inviting. Look forward to going back there again.
