Spice Fusion Indian Restaurant in Powys

Below average food if you talk about India. Taste...No alcohol served but you can take your own bottle and drink inside....No parking in front so find a place around.

The food was great, with some inspiring Bangladesh dishes, as well as traditional indian choices.Portions were excellent, and the food was truly amazing.I had a meat samosa starter which was well cooked and tasted excelkent. A Bangladesh main to follow which was fresh and spicy.We left the restaurant full and content after a great meal

Lovely quality homemade chutney and tasty samosas. Nice to see a wide variety of main dishes that we hadn't tried before. Friendly staff and good value. Would eat there again if we were in town.

Very poor indeed as it was......Highly recommended by friends.. But it was such a disappointment!!! We had poppadoms and chutneys to start and they left us over an hour and a half... Then they asked if we wanted any mains. and I think if we hadn't of asked we would still have been sat there now... The takeaway service was great for them they seemed to concentrate more on the takeaway orders then people sitting in the restaurant. When the main event eventually came it was luke warm the lamb was chewy and portion size were small.And was so extremely overpriced £1.25 for each poppadom £2.50 for an orange juice out of a 0.60p carton. The whole bill was nearly £100 for 4 people 1 poppadom each a rice and a curry each and a bowl of chips. So as to say we won't be eating in there again if I could give the review a - 1 star rating I would absolutely awful.....

Stopped overnight in Welshpool and read the lovely reviews so decided to have a meal here. Was not disappointed! Tasty and aromatic dishes from the specials menu. Unique flavours of Bangladeshi cuisine. Staff were very polite and friendly. Thank you very much!

Amazing restaurant, really nice food, butterfly prawn and mixed kebab starts excellent. Mains of chicken chat and chicken shashlik too, light garlic nan and tasty rice.Big plus BYOB, handy Premier shop if you've forgotten.Ali (covering from Newtown) a great host. If it were closer we'd be regulars.

I ordered a makhoni curry and thought I’d got a Big Mac!!! It came out with a slice of burger cheese on top. That’s a first… and a last. The curry tasted like it came out of a tin and the food wasn’t particularly hot either.

Ok we wanted to grab something to eat before the football came on TV, and had spotted this place on our arrival to Welshpool. We walked past in the afternoon and looked through the window and thought it look decent (typical small Indian “Bangladeshi restaurant) and though it doesn’t serve alcohol (Muslim respect) you can take your own.Now the owner “Mohamed Ali” was a very friendly man, very attentive and we enjoyed chatting with him whilst ordering, as we questioned the pictures on the wall, and we’re given an interesting history lesson on Bangladesh, India and Pakistan. Sometimes a little conversation makes life friendlier and more interesting, shame it doesn’t happen enough!Anyway the two meals we ordered, chicken dupiaza and chicken tikka Balti were beautiful at a reasonable price, and though our very was quite brief, would recommend trying Spice Fusion.

Giving this place a 3 due to the young chap who spoke to me rudely on the phone when I asked if the shop was open (I am visiting Welshpool due to work) and when I asked why he had an attitude told me to not bother phoning again (Thankfully the owner was polite and understood where I was coming from and that he would be speaking to the young chap about his manners.Still went in and ordered though as I wanted to try out an Indian in this part of the UK.Food was spot on and way bettee than any Indian I've had in Bristol (and I've had quite a few) normally go for something hot but the amount of soft dishes they had was irresistible. The kashmir chicken was absolutely beautiful and the banana that was in the curry as well was a nice surprise/delight. Pilau rice was also spot on,beautifully cooked and very moist (hard to do that to be honest) especially as I've seen a few reviews saying the rice here wasn't great. I am a massive fan of Peshwari naan and again this was a hitter for me,massive amounts of desiccated coconut. I also ordered a onion barji but when I opened the box there was about 5 little ones what was a nice touch. I haven't tried these yet but I am looking forward to trying!Was given a few little gifts as well what I find is extremely rare to get in Bristol. 2 bags of different salad and I believe 2 poppadoms. When I do visit again I hope if I bump into the young chap that he's abit more calmer. Will easily go from a 3 to 5 for me.
