What a cracking little cafe. We asked at one of the local shops we’re we could have a nice lunch and the lady there directed us to this cafe. Great location next to the river. Lovely little courtyard to sit and eat. Wonderful food and great coffee. This is our future go to whenever we visit Hay on Wye. Highly recommended.

The Bean Box is like a little oasis by the river. You get to it by walking under the bridge over the river. Once seated in the quiet gardens it feels like you are miles from the hustle and bustle of Hay on Wye. Excellent coffee and a simple delicious menu all served with a chat and a smile. The pulled pork roll on my last visit was so delicious I forgot to take a picture so you will just have to believe me.

Great coffee. We had oat flat whites which were excellent. The vegan pastries, only on Saturdays were OUT OF THIS WORLD.

Saw that the reviews were pretty good and a lady in one of the bookshops recommended it so we tried it for lunch whilst in Hay last week. The coffee was excellent and my hubby and I both had cheese burgers whilst our friend had a bacon and egg bap (all on sour dough baps) from the outdoor barbeque and they were delicious! Organic beef was used and whilst we aren't big burger eaters, I would definitely have another! Usefully whilst there is plenty of outdoor seating, it wasn't a particularly warm day, we were able to sit indoors in what felt like the wine cellar! A lovely experience and the staff at the coffee servery and at the barbeque were extremely pleasant. Would definitely recommend!

I went to the bean box for some lunch with my family and had the most incredible pulled pork burger!! I highly recommend, as well as the delicious food it’s in such a beautiful setting! My boyfriend had the beef burger which he also really enjoyed!

A great coffee and snacks venue with seating right next to the beautiful river Wye. The staff are friendly, the coffee is delicious as are their bacon baps and burgers, wonderful scenery.

Nice little cafe, tucked a little out of the way from the bustle of the main town. Basic food and drink, but it does that well. Was fabulous on a sunny day.

After wandering around Haye on Wye for nearly two hours trying to find a spot for Coffee & Cake that wasn't overrun by Wasps, stumbled upon this little place while walking the dog. Friendly service, lovely coffee and delicious cake, and no Wasps! Will definitely come again.
