The Bull & Heifer in Powys

Great food albeit not a full menu on the Tuesday we were there. I had loaded fries - The Cod Father gorgeous and just enough. The proper homemade chips were a fab blast from our younger days of mum cooking.

Booked for a table of 20 for my mother in laws 70, food arrived all together so we all ate together. Everything was cooked lovely and fresh.A little on the expensive side butWe didnt mind as it was a special occasion. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Lovely place to visit.

Couldn't get on the WIFI and the portions where small ( no mashed potatoes ?) but it was cooked to perfection. The beef melted in your mouth and the service was spot on. I wanted to give it a 3.5 but you can't. It was nice to see that the food rating was five out of five. But there where a lot of flys that we had to keep away from our food !!!! So that was a pain

Some of the best food my wife and I have ever tasted..exceptional service too, young lady was very friendly. Price of the alcohol is surprisingly cheap. £3.60 a pint is unheard of these days!

Really nice food and really nice staff. There was a long wait for the food but the waitress offered us some drinks on the house for the wait... Which I thought was kind and good customer service.

Great pub, good atmosphere, and staff were very friendly and attentive. We had decided to go for the Christmas bottomless brunch. Food was tasty, but potions were small, and the starter was described as a snack. I have never seen anything that small served to me before on a plate. The main was good, but again, the portion was small. The dessert was okay, a decent portion, but the pancake tasted quite dry. After three courses, we were left still feeling a little bit hungry. If the food was a little disappointing, the drinks were not. I started with Prosecco, then punch, mulled wine (which was not very hot, but lovely flavour). We were served with drinks on a regular basis throughout our two hour slot, which was definitely good value.

Very nice food. Great country pub. Staff were friendly and attentive. Loved the pork crackling snacks too.
