We thoroughly enjoyed our overnight stay here. Every staff member was totally welcoming and professional. The rooms were clean, and the meals — especially the braised pork belly— were exceptional.

Excellent food at very reasonable prices. The staff are professional and helpful. Excellent access for wheelchairs into the restaurant and the food was wonderfully tasty. Can't wait to get back there for another Sunday lunch with the family. This has restored my faith in pub dining and raises the standards for other pubs in the area. Well done Horse and Jockey!

Arrived on spec for Sunday lunch, found the staff very friendly, patient and humourous. They managed our difficult medical diets without any fuss. Food was lovely. The place was clean. Toilets immaculate. Beer was great.

Great pub, mixed crowd, meals available, can get crowded, especially if the local rugby team wins a match. Real ales, guest beers, not too expensive. They seem to have a hostel thing going there, worth checking out.

Excellent place to start the second half of Offas Dyke. Really friendly and great ale and food. What's not to like?😁👍 The lady behind the bar was fantastic and so hard working and breakfast was superb.

Excellent steak pie and chips. My sister's steak was not the best she's ever had. Attentive staff. It was a bit noisy as it was bank holiday.

Sunday night at the Horse & Jockey and a really fabulous dinner. Spicy Nacho's to start followed by sizzling chicken. And I mean sizzling - check out the photo. Brilliant 👍👍👍

Took my girlfriend here on our short tour is Wales. The shine in her eyes as she bit into the pork tenderloin, it made me so happy. When we wondered in the door we were greeted by an wonderful young girl, never had that sort of service, felt really friendly in a place we have never been before. The pizza was great! The choice of drinks was amazing, if you are in the area it is worth the drive, the aesthetic is perfect, what lovely little establishment! Again, the staff were extremely kind.

Stayed here about 20 years ago in December over a weekend when the snow came down heavily & caused many who had booked to simply not turn up without even letting the staff know, which is not just impolite, but doesn't even give them a chance to offer rooms or tables to others & is one of the most aggravating & financially unhelpful things in the world for restaurants & hotels. Anyway, happened to be in the area again, which is lovely, & we were gasping for a pot of tea & apart from the other pubs in town, which might have been able to accommodate us, everywhere else was either closed (I think it was just after 4pm & it was a Saturday) or closing for the day. But the Horse & Jockey managed to produce 2 pots of tea, which was most welcome.

We had a wonderful meal, incredibly tasty and well priced! We enjoyed every minute and our server Maddy was an absolute delight! So professional and spoke clearly even though I forgot my hearing aids I could hear her. She made our evening infinitely better.Would definitely recommend!!
