Trying to think of something positive to say about the food and carnt the food was watery and tastless, the pancakes for the crispy duck had been over microwaved and stuck together like mush. I will say the young lady on the front desk was polite, and extremely professional when dealing with customers for one so young, hence the two stars otherwise I would have given none.

The Lantern now known as Dragons lair, has extremely poor customer service. We ordered a meal last night, meal was wrong and the food was cold. We only live less than a mile away and we drove. When we phoned to let them know. They said come back tomorrow. We did, and he refused to acknowledge that there was anything wrong and told us to go away! Bad and poor service and food.

Very good Chinese overall, food tastes great, service is quick and friendly. One of the best Chinese I have been to.

We were on a weekend break and fancied a Chinese, there was not much choice in way of Chinese takeaways and the cottage we were staying in had a leaflet for the lantern, we phoned our order through and made the 20 min journey to collect. The food was ready on arrival, great friendly service, however the food was very bland, the fried rice was more like boiled rice, completely anaemic in colour, the salt & pepper chicken and chips were caked in ground black pepper rather than chillies etc. The quarter crispy duck had barely a mouthful of meat on it. No complimentary prawn crackers either which was disappointing with a £30 order.Unfortunately we would not recommend nor revisit.

Been going to this Chinese for years and although the food tastes good they can't get the orders right for toffee. Order a garlic and chilli Beef and get chicken instead. Order a large egg fried rice get a small. Either their staff need retraining on how to get a telephone order correct or I'm going to find a new Chinese takeaway.

Came to Welshpool to visit my family and we treated ourselves to a Chinese, first time around the young girl that answered to take our order was clueless on the menu and the order was wrong called them straight back and the bloke that answered was very arrogant and turned it around on us and blamed us for his wrong doing, went back down the second time the order was still wrong but due to it being so late and me on the verge of a hypo we decided to eat it regardless and it was absolutely disgraceful! The chicken balls were dripping with grease and a resembled something you would get from McDonald's but McDonald's would of been better, the spring rolls were like frozen ones that you could pick up from your local supermarket, the rice was more like boiled rice than fried rice, the chow mein was greasy and tasteless, the curry was a different story it was the consistency of water and also bland, the beef was rubbery and the chicken didn't even look nor taste like chicken! I wouldn't of even fed it to my dog! Overall will never be going back again to this takeaway the food was greasy, tasteless and unedible and the service was appalling!*And the prime example of how appalling the service is, is the response to this post from the owner. After claiming he had been doing this for over 30 years and finding out he was only 21 was a shock! It's not against the place at all. It is purely to warn people of my own experience at this place. The food was a disgrace, service awful and like I said on the original post both times there was food missing and the order was wrong but the second time due to health we decided to eat it regardless to save me being unwell although between us we must of threw over £30 worth of food in the bin!

I've visited this place twice now to use the takeaway both times the food was excellent nice large portions very tasty and hot the lady behind the counter that served us was really polite and helpful the man in the back kitchen( possibly the boss ) was also polite and good to talk to. I've read some of the ( bad )reviews and to be honest I struggle to agree with them I suggest you try it for yourself and then give your own review.

I have just purchased a takeaway meal from this dive - probably the worst Chinese meal I have ever tasted. When I rang to tell the manager (I was polite throughout the conversation) I was told, quote, I was: "A dick**** and to shove it my a***." Stay from there - it's truly gross! I attach a photo of what was apparently Cantonese shredded beef and rice. Yuck!
