A lovely, local place to eat with delicious food and very friendly, accommodating staff. only downside is the small carpark. We had issues parking as there were lots of horses in the carparking spaces but found somewhere eventually. (Obviously this is no fault of the Roast Ox.)we will definitely be back again as the roast was lovely and childrens portions are very generous.

Stunning pub high in the Welsh hills. Couldn't fault the service by the friendly woman greeting us. Being on her own in a busy bar and restaurant did not stop our food arriving quickly and it was delicious. Would highly recommend a visit.

Myself and four friends stayed overnight while doing a two day trail ride with Freerein and we'd like to say a big thank you to all the staff. Hostility and food were amazing . The rooms and beds were lovely and comfy just what we needed after a day in the saddle.

Excellent as always. Looking forward to visiting again soon for another wonderful meal and a chat with the lovely people there. Already booked for July date.

We were staying close by so checked if they could serve us a breakfast one morning. Service was ace. Great pet friendly pub. Food spot on. Attentive service and really reasonable. If you're in the area, would suggest giving it a go.

Such a great place and the pub cat adds to the atmosphere! Lovely people who were happy to help. I'll be happy to go back for another holiday!

Fantastic food, didn't stay here this tiem, but have in the past and the rooms and service were excellent. Can be a bit tricky to find, but amazing views when you do

We were staying in a local Airbnb for the weekend and booked into here for Sunday lunch. At first the welcome seemed a little cold to say the least but this was due to a very busy period, bridges were built and relations were soon fixed and we were served by a very pleasant woman, some would say she was as mad as a box of frogs but she made us laugh, very friendly indeed. The food served up was fantastic, so much on the plate that many of us couldn't finish. The quality was excellent and even the picky children enjoyed every bit of it. Would I recommend to others? absolutely!!!!

The food here is outstanding. From the outside on first glance, this is marketed as a pub, however the hospitality is exceptional and quality of food is unrivaled. I had a Sunday Roast, Lamb (twice because it was that good) and the Cod and Chips. Not a single fault with any of them, the quality of food is that of a a Michelin starred restaurant, with the portion sizes for a proper person. We live 4 hours away but we will certainly be returning.
