The Upper House Inn in Powys

Sad news pub closed due to cover vaccine health issues.Shame loved visiting this pub during our holidays.Fingers crossed for a brighter tomorrow

Smashing little pub, fantastic pool room and darts area (like being on tv), awesome bar snacks and good prices.unfortunately not fussed on the village it's in.

Great, my kids love the red pool table and normally can't get my wife in a pub, this place I can't get her out.Noticed one person gave a ONE star?? Absolutely rubbish, then again one of her other reviews received 3 STARS based on how hot the doorman was ?? Pathetic individual who couldn't or wouldn't give her name only a screen name.

It's so relaxing, happy and down to earth, absolutely spot on.Did notice one or two mentioned a one star given by one person?? After reading comments this person made regarding other places, one being 3 stars for HOTNESS of doorman I'm sure any reviews made by that person should be taken with a pinch of salt and GOOGLE should remove and I agree with one who described that person as a complete idiot.

Bus full of us supported them on mad Friday 2018, noticed the photo of us, brilliant welcome, lovely people.As for the idiot that gives review ratings based on looks of a doorman, grow up fool don't knock lovely hard working people.

After being told by a local landlord that he couldn’t be bothered and it wasn’t worth his time putting the fryer my family and I found ourselves lost in the middle of nowhere.Wet, annoyed and if that wasn’t enough a pair of cranky kids.Lost within country lanes what the hell?Having been lost, cold and basically embarrassed by an intoxicated publican.Accidentally stumbled upon this old village Inn, omg,Opened the door what a wonderful happy village pub, laughing and singing, darts teams practicing, pool teams playing.Landlady with open arms welcomed us and told us to sit around the fire relax and warm up.Locals made us welcome and we did mention the incident with the other public house.One local shouted out to a member of the pool team that we had not eaten and the player being the landlord asked for a menu and informed us cooking would not be a problem.It was 10.45pm on a Friday September 2018 this family owned public house can only be a credit to Montgomery.Absolutely fabulous, spotlessly clean, happy and welcoming, thank you so much

I made a comment regarding a frozen omelette served at a venue in Welshpool and how it basically put me off.With my family tucking into home made chicken burgers and pie and mash the landlord asked if I would join him in the kitchen.Three eggs whipped, seasoned and cooked in a pan with butter.Omg smooth silky fluffy and served in the shape of a Spanish fan.So embarrassing but worth it

All the 5 star reviews are spot on but they have failed to mention the selection of over 60 different bottles of wine.😭😭😭😭 crying could only have one had the car.

What can I say??I shall start off with its a small world, and this village has one of the best family run/owned pubs you could ask for, we want them back home, ever since they left the Half moon Hotel Carmarthen its never felt right.As soon as I noticed our pool trophies on the bar I knew who owned it, lovely and clean, big tv, music, bar snacks, pool room and darts.Hopefully one day you will return xxx

My husband has already posted his review and I wanted to personally give credit for the spotless ladies rest room,; sadly my out of date phone has problems. 10/10 certainly the best thing in that village
