The Usk and Railway Inn in Powys

Excellent place, very friendly, good food and beer. Good place to stay. Very clean and tidy. Thoroughly enjoyed a four night stay. Super breakfasts, and evening meals were delicious, well done Chef! Thank you.

2nd Sunday dinner visit to this friendly pub. Must be a hit with the locals as it was busy both times. As a vegetarian I was extremely impressed with the consideration taken to provide vegetarian gravy and roast potatoes not cooked in animal fat, although I have it on food authority the other roasties are delicious. I don't usually like risotto, but the mushroom & spinach one on the current menu is the best I've tasted by far. The staff are delightful and service excellent. Looking forward to another Sunday dinner soon. Well done Usk & Railway.

We accidentally stumbled across this pub and we are so glad we did. The food was amazing and the service was so friendly and quick. I had a small issue with my dinner but that was quickly sorted out. Thank you for your hospitality ☺️

Great friendly pub. We stayed for one night, room was warm and clean, lovely comfortable bed. Great powerful hot shower. Great selection of drinks at the bar, friendly staff and absolutely fabulous food. Would recommend.

Our meal tonight was superb.I had the slow cooked lamb shoulder is it was just the most tender and delicious meal I’ve tasted in ages. I can not not recommend this fantastic pub any higher.Thank you Linda and team.

We were cold wet and miserable when we arrived, but when we left, we were wet, warmer and had a smile on our faces. The food was incredible, the staff were amazing and they couldn't do enough for me and my partner, despite us being 2 random tourists walking through the door. When we went back the next day, we found out that we'd left more money than we expected, went chasing after us (but couldn't see which way we'd gone) and they'd kept it behind for us in case we came back.I would highly recommend this pub to anyone and will certainly be going back again 😀

Great welcome, great service, lamb shanks n mash out of this world. Sugar loaf local ale is top notch. Went whilst Wales (eventually) beat the Scots in the second game 2022 Six Nations....I am Welsh...Great atmosphere. Thank you Lynda and the team. Karen

Went here for Sunday lunch. Haven't been here for two years and definitely was not disappointed. Had a lovely table for two and the smell when we walked in of Sunday roast was gorgeous. Lovely service staff . We both had the turkey dinner and the service was nice and quick. The meals came and smelly fantastic. It was like eating your mum's best home cooked food. Everything. Was piping hot and after the meal I could not fault anything. 10/10. Had chocolate browny for dessert which was stunning. the atmosphere was lovely and homely. What a little gem of a place this is. We have now said we are going here once every three weeks can't fault it. The prices were excellent too.
