Great selection of real ales, good food and nice atmosphere

·

Nigh on perfection - exquisite food, beautifully served - it's been a long time since I appreciated a meal out so much

·

Fabulous meals, warm and welcoming room with a wood burner. Hand sanitizer available by the door. Joy running the front of house wore a mask and is lovely.

We visited last Sunday for lunch, and was surprised that there was no sanitizer available to use,As when I booked i was asked to wear a mask, which I did, but my wife left her's in the car but was told it was alright as we had a table by the door, But we noticed that virtually every other customer who arrived didn't wear any.The meal was quite tasty, as was the dessert but we were very disappointed with the portion sizes of the meat,I had beef and my wife had chicken I had a slice and a half and my wife had similar. We have visited before and do not remember the portions being so small.

Real hidden gem - owned by a lovely couple - as a solo traveller they did everything to make me feel welcome and looked out for me (it is own separate access to the rooms but they checked that I arrived back safely after wedding) Beautiful, clean room, stunning views and fantastic breakfast - would recommend to anyone in the area - perfect for couples (and solos) looking for a quite getaway in a stunning part of the country

First class hospitality with old fashioned warmth and welcome. The menu is classic with the food all freshly prepared they have all the time in the world to make your visit really memorable. Will be back soon.

Went with a large group of women friends and were delighted to find that we were being given the exclusive treatment. The welcome was warm and genuine, and the dining area is cosy. The food was fantastic. Bear in mind that 13 fussy ladies were having 2 courses each, and not one of us had anything we didn't absolutely love. This is a really special place that we would all heartily recommend.

This has now been converted into a restaurant with B&B rooms and a holiday let.The restaurant area is a very cosy small area with 6 tables plus outside seating so booking is recommended. It sits next to the beautiful gardens all seen through the green oak glazed outside wall. The menu is fairly short but should offer something for everyone. Our food was beautifully prepared and served by extremely friendly staff. There is no rushing and you can take your time.Your bill is hand written, a unique little touch.I would certainly recommend this to my guests.A small point to mention. There are cats on the premises to be aware of if you are allergic to them.Another excellent meal tonight.

Haven’t been for a while. But this is a HIDDEN GEM!! I am quite fussy but can’t say enough positive things. Don’t go if you are in a hurry, it is a very laid back take your time place. But the food is OUTSTANDING!! Would say whilst Sunday lunch is great, you really want to go for the main menu. 100% recommend! I will be going back!!

Wow! Stunningly good food. Beautiful surroundings and a wonderfully relaxed atmosphere. Four of us ate, we all had a different starter and main course. We all left mightily impressed..It was not the cheapest of menus, but worth every penny. Will definately return. Special occasion of course.
