Absolutely top notch! Classy everything from decor to toiletries and biscuits. Delightfully decorated rooms with quality furnishings and fittings.

Had a wonderful dinner Friday Jubilee weekend. The food was exceptional. Complements to the chef.Great service from the time we entered. Great waitress. Nothing to much trouble.Highly recommended

This is a review for the restaurant only - we didn’t stay here.The food was lovely to be honest, although I felt the menu was a tad limited considering its popularity.Surprised it was so quiet on the bank holiday, shame because I’d imagine the atmosphere would be okay otherwise. It was very quiet sadly, needn’t have worried about booking a table.Portion sizes were good, although no draught lager on site - all bottles, whereas the soft drinks came in cans!Service was a tad slow, even with very few people inside, plus kept leaving empties on the table so we were running out of room!Didn’t stop for pudding, left quite quickly (no fault of the place, it was just too quiet, needed something other than a radio playing in the background!)Parking is tricky - there are a few spots around the back by the church, but they fill up quickly.

Absolutely amazing from the moment you step through the door you are struck by the stylish decor which is evident throughout the hotel. Our room was large and comfortable and well equipped even having a fridge. The standout moment of our stay was dining in their restaurant the food was absolutely amazing. One tip book a table in advance as they fill up very quickly as so popular we were lucky enough to get in our first night but not so the second. The other eateries in the area whilst nice just do not stack up. Big round of applause to the new owners you're doing a great job. Our stay at the unicorn was "banging'

Had an evening meal here with some friends who were staying at The Unicorn. The food was delicious. Had a vegan burger which was one of the nicest I have had. The desserts...make sure you leave room as you don't want to miss them. Service was very welcoming and friendly.

Very nice rooms. Clean and nicely decorated. They have a good breakfast menu, just make sure you order breakfast with your room or let them know ahead of time that you want breakfast.

The Unicorn is our new favourite place to have morning coffee or a delicious evening meal!It is warm, friendly and welcoming, the service is first rate and the food is imaginative, freshly prepared, tasty and always comes out hot. We like the fact that the menu changes regularly too.The eating area is spotless, newly refurbed and cheerfully decorated, the tables are distanced enough for privacy and...the wine/water glasses are always gleaming! (a pet hate if they are not!). Cannot fault it.

My review is for the cafe/restaurant, not the hotel, as I've never stayed there.... I've been to all of the eating houses in Llanidloes over time, and can say that this one is the best of them all. Shimmers cafe/restaurant forms part of this hotel. It serves anything from a drink to a full scale meal. It is also licensed. All the food is home made and cooked on the premises, by a college trained, fully qualified chef. He makes all the cakes himself, and his scone recipe is handed down the generations. The cakes are all unique. You won't find them in any other establishment. The surroundings are superb, combining old time glamour with edgy modern decoration. All in all, a perfect setting for an afternoon out.

Very covid conscious, lovely friendly owners and staff. Gorgeous cakes and coffee. Food coming out looked superb. Surroundings sumptuous but cosy.

Absolutely brilliant all round, staff, food & service was top class. Shame about the dog who wasn’t allowed entry but hope she managed to find somewhere more suitable to her needs whilst wearing her muzzle.
