Was there for a wedding reception and a bed for the night. The venue was good. Plenty of helpful staff around. The room was roomy. Plenty of space. A massive bed (I lost my Mrs in there somewhere). Even the shower could host a small party.Appologies to the staff when ordering our bar meal before the reception and the laughter over the "cod pieces" from their menu.

I spent one night here while travelling for work. I will definitely use it again! The staff are great, rooms are modern, plenty of parking, bags of character, all for a reasonable price.

The hotel is nice and traditional and we had an average afternoon tea, the massages were also amazing, the masseuses knew what they were doing and i felt so good after. BUT THE POOLSIDE!! It was disgusting.. and that's putting it nicely, they had run out of slippers so we had to go barefoot but the sight of the mouldy showers made me want to levitate!! I swim in our local council pool and it has never looked that dirty, the steam room was tepid(smelled so bad) , the pool was lukewarn, the toilets wouldnt flush and the hot tub had all sorts floating in it!!

Poor booking service. Regardles of them offering SPA break packages, you have to phone and book everything separately: dinner, room and SPA treatment. So I booked SPA treatment at the same time as the hotel room, never given a time confirmation for the treatment. When I phoned again to confirm when exactly my treatment is, I was told there is no time slot available... This SPA Break supposed to be a birthday present so thinking about cancellation and finding something else.

The hotel was beautiful and the room was big enough with coffee machine, mini fridge and huge bed. Nice view in the gardens also. Nice spa facilities. Good full breakfast buffet. The negative part was the jacuzzi was working for 10 min and then for another 10 min we had to wait outside and going back in when the bubbles started again. The restaurant was closed during christmas day even in my email a month ago they told me that will be open as normal that night. Also the timing for food service in the bar was not accurate. The first night they told us until 9pm but when we arrived in the bar at 8:15pm they inform us that the kitchen was closed. So no food the first night. Next night the same. Another time they told us and another time the closed the bar.

Amazing staff and lovely hotel. I stay here most weeks with work. The staff my my stay more pleasurable. Sandra is always super helpful. Michelle and Andrew are very friendly as well. Not to mention the lovely Lynnel who goes out her way to help in every way she can. Clean rooms. Amazing beds! Lovely gym and spa. Great breakfast. I couldn’t recommend this hotel enough. Lovely grounds. Parking. Spa! I’ll keep coming back that for sure.

Lovely place, friendly and helpful staff. Buffet breakfast was great. Decor in public hallways was a bit tired looking but nothing to stop being it being a very nice place to stay.

Nice hotel. Rooms very nice but carpet very dusty and not just in corners. Bring your own beer. No draft beer in the bar so went for gin and tonic. Warm tonic as not kept in the fridge!. Guest were having to explain to bar staff what glass to use and which drinks by pointing at the bottles on the shelf. Shocking, considering the cost of the drinks. Hotel advertises fresh local produce but 2 dishes on the limited dinner menu we're curries. Left the bar at 2230 to be met by someone vacuuming the corridor carpet. Difficult to know who's staff and who's guests as no badges, uniforms or identifiers. No duty manager, only the F and D manager.

The Hotel itself: outstanding. The rooms are extremely clean and modern, while the main part of the hotel remains older and keeps it historical charm. Everything is perfect.Food: not good. Breakfast was like rubber. Dinner and lunch…. Let’s say I had several reservations and they were all cancelled due to staff problems (on a weekend too).Hospitality: honestly, awful. The male staff seemed extremely nice, while the female staff were so bothered by anything I ever asked them. Not helpful at all, not accommodating, definitely didn’t care about the clients themselves… which is kind of a stressful situation to have on vacation.Misc: you need to make reservations far inAdvance for EVERYTHING…. Dinner, spa, etc. Staff also doesn’t debrief you on where anything is, reservation details, etcOverall this hotel has some great potential but definitely needs to work on the hospitality aspect. Nevertheless, I’d definitely comeBack!

We had a nice two-night stay at Ardoe House. I appreciate everyone has their own experience and there are some negative reviews here which may be justified, but we had an enjoyable time and were happy enough with the service. The room was nice, clean, spacious and comfortable. Breakfast had a good selection and the staff were friendly. Yes, there were a couple of details that maybe weren't quite up to normal standard, but it's taking hotels an extra effort to get back up to speed just now because of Covid and especially a place like this that has only recently changed ownership. It's a stunning building and the deal we got was well worth the money, so would certainly recommend it.
