Soul in Aberdeen City

Had one of the best fish and chips here. Fish was super crispy and tasted amazing. Great atmosphere and music as well. The staff was really polite and courteous.

It was a very quite Sunday night we were in but the decor is lovely, very clean and modern with pretty lights around the walls. The cocktails were really tasty and well made. Especially the amaretto sour.

We wanted to order food, and we also booked a table to eat food. They said to us that there was a big group who was eating from a buffet and that we needed to wait until 8:30. When it was 8:30 they told us that the kitchen was closed. And on their food menu was said that you can order until 9:00 so if you want to eat here don’t expect to eat if you are coming on a Saturday! Besides that, the women who promised that we could order at 8:30, never came to our table again, and we needed to find out by ourselves that we were not able to order food….

The place is amazing. You can get great photos here. The church setting is very beautifully renovated. The DJ is also good. The food is a very good quantity and it's worth the effort to get a booking.

Booked table for 7, arrived at 630 had a drink,asked at 7 to be seated. Girl seemed confused, cleared her bosses paperwork off the table and seated us. Didn't give us any instructions on service/how to order or even menus, after 30 mins we left without anyone ever coming over to us. Lovely place and ambience shame about the service.

Came across a random tent bit at the back and realised it's part of soul bar. It's called "the draft project". Also discovered it used to be the music shop. Beer was good and they had some discounted beer for "September sessions". We had some brewtoon beers.

Food is pretty good. The battered haggis was very nice light and crispy. Muscles were nice with a good broth, but no bread To enjoy the broth more and the salad that came with it had little taste. Could have given a little dressing. Bartenders didn’t know a lot about the drinks or Whiskey selection. Knew some about the beers on tap. Ok place for a stop off or club atmosphere, but wasn’t overly impressed with the drink selection. Service was ok

Would highly recommend a visit here.Modern and clean,staff friendly and polite. Children's menu available activity sheet and crayons also for children.Main menu has plenty of selection had the standard haddock what was a good size portion with the option of having battered or breaded fish .The batter was light and not to greasy really enjoyable will definitely be back.

I loved it in here. For such a large city centre bar it was extremely clean. Sport on tv. Gorgeous stain glass windows. Bar was lay out well and offered a good choice. The only reason a 4 star is because they messed up my food order.... however, they never charged me for it. Staff were attentive. Worth a visit. Old church, great feel.
