The Ploughman in Aberdeen City

Instead of always trying out chain restaurants, I love trying little pubs/restaurants close to home. The Ploughman is definitely one to remember, it is family run pub/restaurant that has a large menu full of hearty homemade meals fit for all the family. Myself and my Girlfriend started off with the haggis bon bons to share which were full of flavour and well presented, as for mains: my other half had the haddock mornay, I had the chicken goujons and chips which only appear as a starter on the menu but can be made into a main course if asked. The food came out in no time, freshly cooked and roasting hot.The Ploughman is definitely a hidden gem, the food is slightly pricey but tastes great and will keep me coming back for more. They have free onsite parking and a pub attached, I do recommend phoning to book a table as it can be really busy in the evenings and weekends.

Such a lovely place, nice atmosphere and friendly staff. Great choice of food we enjoyed the vegan options of Fajitas and Butternut Squash Curry with a side of onion rings really tasty and delicious unfortunately didn't have time for desert so we will return 😋

Fantastic service, have had a couple of reunions here and the staff are amazing. They are friendly & nothing is to much for them. The food is good would recommend if you want a relaxing meal.

We were able to reserve a table easily online, received a very warm welcome and promptly shown to our table which was spotlessly clean.The menu was varied and extensive and very reasonably priced.Our meals were brought to us swiftly and we were impressed with the portion sizes.The burger was especially tasty and the 'special' dish of chicken/ chorizo pasta was overloaded with meat and big enough for two portions!!The staff were very attentive and nothing was too much trouble.Would definitely recommend this place to anyone and will certainly be back when next in the area.Many thanks for a lovely meal

The service was excellent the food was superb I had the fish it was great fell apart juicy and flaky well cooked others had pasta and said it was very good my partner had chicken cranachan and said its a novel and delicious dish. Staff were attentive and fun which was great can only say this has our recommendation if you haven't been well worth a try worth the money they charge

We really enjoyed the visit today for lunch! Fast, very friendly service and great menu options. Fish & chips were awesome and generous portions! The sticky toffee pudding looked incredible - wish I'd ordered it too!Very clean and excellent safety measures in place. Will definitely be back. Thank you.
