Alexandra Hotel Restaurant in Aberdeenshire

Staff were very friendly. We had hot meals in the bar area on the evening (but we didn't stay here). I had fish, chips & peas it was lovely. The batter was lovely n thin and a good piece of fish mmm and a glass of rose wine! My colleague had a black & blue burger & chips. Basically black pudding with a homemade beef burger. He said it was delicious. Can recommend the food here.

I have not had a chance to stay at the hotel yet, but I had to come on and leave a review anyways. I had a booking scheduled and had to cancel extremely last minute due to testing positive for Covid. They not only refunded me the entire price (which they definitely did not have to do) but they also reached out personally to wish me a speedy recovery. In addition, the staff were extremely friendly when I called to make a dinner reservation earlier on. They are getting a solid 5 stars for customer service and I will definitely be staying at the hotel when I am able to reschedule my trip.

Couldn't fault a thing, really friendly service, food was typical pub grub but delicious and all in warm, cosy and nice surroundings. Will definitely be back!

Dined here numerous times to savour the menu. A winner everytime, especially the haggis stuffed chicken wrapped in bacon. Great service. Thank you.

Nice and welcoming staff at the restaurant. Nice family evening meal, reasonably priced.

A nice friendly, clean, comfortable place. Never used the hotel facilities but often visited the bar for a coffee or drink.

So disappointed, the staff are so warm and friendly. But the food, sadly, is bland and lacking any flavour. Maybe the fish and chips are okay, but the homemade pie was totally without flavour, and unfortunately the chicken wrapped in bacon and stuffed with haggis also bland. Ballater needs pub style food with flavour and value for money.

Had lovely lunch here. Great vegetarian options. We enjoyed it so much we booked for evening meal following day. Just as lovely. Good selection of real ales and whiskies.

Food excellent, portions huge. The steak pie was delicious as were the lamb cutlets. We will be back. Staff very friendly.

Fantastic meal! Lots of choice on the menu, with gluten free options available if you ask, and the meals arrived piping hot, good sized portions and were just super tasty. Everyone in the group loved their food and the service was excellent too. Wanted to support a local business and I'll be back at The Alexandra Hotel soon!
