Recommending somewhere I like can be based on so many things- the food, the atmosphere, the staff, the service, or the venue itself. This little place ticked so many of those boxes today, that I had to write a review. They catered for our gluten free requirement, they tickled our taste buds, and it was all served by friendly, accommodating staff. Pop in for lunch or coffee.

Lovely little cafe, friendly wait staff. Really lovely paninis, hubby like the haggis and cheese, I had brie, bacon and cranberry. Really good scone, light n fluffy. Would definitely recommend. We went to eat there a second time, but it was fully booked, shows how good it is.

Only popped in to get a coffe to take away. The coffee and a cake bar were delicious!

Attitude & customer service is appalling. Rude!!!! I will not be back. Went in for a bacon roll to takeaway & lorne roll lady behind till looked us up and down was rude and snappy. Was not offered a menu just "what do you want" when asked for sausage roll she looked up nose curled said it lorne do you know what that is... clearly thought I was a tourist which makes the attitude worse! Clarify I am not I live other side of aberdeenshire and i know what lorne is and what they served was disgusting with green lumps inside it. Bacon roll however was nice and thats the only reason I gave 1 star. Decor inside needs a serious revamp & clean!

Lovely wee cafe with excellent food. A small basic snack lunch menu (see attached pics) but interesting surprise items such as mars bar scones. There is only 10 tables including some comfy chairs. Next time you are in Ballater pop in for a coffee and cake or haggis pannini.

Excellent Scottish birthday breakfast, local produce and warm and friendly service.
