Good beer, hamburger and atmosphere. Not so many tables, so better to reserve it.

The service, food, location were all great. The menu is simple, but everything that we had was delicious. The onion rings were especially good, so good we ordered more. The staff were attentive despite it being busy, and they were double hatting with with the connected burger bar (which we sadly didn't get a chance to try).Drinks selection was better than a lot of restaurants, and as one of the few restaurants open in Ballater it's definitely worth a visit or two.

A bonny spot for lunch or dinner. Out on the patio for lunch on a sunny day was great. Nice menu with pretty locally sourced ingredients and good service. Will definitely be back.

The restaurant in itself is a beautiful spot... unfortunately the food does not do justice to the environment. Perhaps we caught them on an off day. The fish gougons despite my request were heavy with greasy batter. My husbands burger was a fright 😱 the portions were small despite the healthy price tag!!

Called in after a walk around Ballater for lunch when we were staying nearby. We hadn't booked but the staff couldn't have been better, even though it was just after a medical emergency with another diner. Stunning food, very reasonable and one of the best Sunday lunches you could ask for.

Highly recommend. A small but well put together menu, clearly cooked with passion and skill. Lovely decor and ambiance, waiters are excellent. We went twice on our 5 night stay, best restaurant thar we ate at!!

Service was kind of gruff, we were encouraged to order on the app despite the person being at the table to tell us that. It also wasnt busy at the time 🤷🏼♀️ Food was enjoyable but very limited vegetarian options. Nice outdoor area and loved the kilts.

The food was very tasty - exactly what we needed after a day of hiking in the woods. We turned up dressed quite inappropriately for fine dining, wearing our hiking boots and rucksacks, but we got a table outside in the sun and the staff made sure we were well looked after.

Clachan Grill *a hidden gem* and one of the best restaurants in Ballater. After a long day of visiting Ballater, eating ice-cream and enjoying the sun and the sightseeings, we felt a bit peckish...We tried a place who unfortunately served food starting with 1700pm. I couldn't wait so we made our way down the street towards the bridge... and there we found this nice Scottish restaurant - Clachan Grill. The Restaurant, as you will see in the photos attached to this review, has a Scottish ambiance. Staff nicely dressed in traditional Scottish outfit, tartan carpet, pretty thistles in large vases and large chandeliers with giant ornamental anthers hanging from the ceiling. If you love a nice evening out and an enjoyable meal in a luxury and cosy at the same time restaurant and a great ambiance, this is the place for you!A member of staff dressed in traditional Scottish outfit welcomed us, very polite and very kind offered us a table ( although we didn't book one)He was so kind to read the menu for me so I can make a choice ( due to the fact that I forgotten my glasses). The service was very prompt, drinks and food came in time and were of high standards. We had two soft drinks - clear apple juice and Pepsi and two meals - Peterhead haddock and Steak burger, followed by two big sticky toffee puddings * to die for*.Portions are a very good size, freshly cooked and very delicious. I'm usually not very keen on French fries. Believe me, these fries that came with the haddock as well as with the burger were sooo tasty and absolutely melting in your mouth. No idea how they cooked them but they're the most delicious French fries I ever tasted.I did expect the bill to be as higher as the look of the restaurant. Surprise, It wasn't!!I could have had my meal one more time (obviously I couldn't, not even if I wanted as I was full up!!)Well, I'll come back! and I'll recommend this Restaurant to each and every single friend and person I knowClachan Grill restaurant, very highly recommended! *****- Thank you Chef! And thank you to the staff!

We were having lunch today my husband and I and we enjoyed a lot. The food was exquisite, well presented and fantastic flavour, the staff was really friendly and the place has a lot of charm. Glad we found this place to have lunch and I definitely recommend it!! Dog friendly if your dog is well behaved!!
