Durn House Restaurant in Aberdeenshire

We had Sunday Lunch at Durn House, the food was amazing staff and the owner were more than accomadaing giving us a brief history and a little tour, Ican highly recommend a visit !We will be going back as they also have a saturday afternoon/evening menu and afternoon teas!Thanks again Ally x

A beautiful mansion, rooms are very well organised for your comfort. Staff are very friendly and helpful. The food is excellent. We really enjoyed our stay and our little dog did too. Thoroughly recommend staying here.

Was absolutely wonderful stay bed was very comfy and room was cosy and loved that breakfast was served in our room in the morning . Absolutely brilliant staff and doggie friendly

Stayed for a weekend and the food was excellent, staff were very attentive and welcoming and the decor was tasteful.We stayed here on the winter staycation offer through the hotel website- great value for money.Would recommend staying here for a peaceful break. Good location with things to see and do outdoors nearby. One evening we had dinner in the hotel and was one of the best dining experiences we have had, very impressed with the quality of food. In room breakfast was timely and our orders were accurate, with good vegetarian options available - but make sure you state the quantities of each item if you are wanting a hearty breakfast!Would love to return if up that way again!

Firstly, the positive. Durn house is absolutely beautiful, the grounds are amazing. That’s where that ends! Not long after we arrived a member of staff asked us to fill in the breakfast menu for the next day, we were a bridal party trying to empty 3 cars of stuff into our rooms, a little while later he was back to ask if we had done them. On the day of the wedding our breakfast arrived, i wouldnt say it was 4 star! The staff on the day were not very helpful, they were inefficient, and not very friendly either. Although my chicken meal was very nice, those that had the beef were not happy at all! The meat looked medium rare, but in fact it was tough as old boots, and most people couldnt eat it. The photographer was going round lighting the candles on the table just before we sat down, and the wine for the toast was being poured as the speeches were being said! The next morning my grandaughter came knocking at the door to tell us breakfast was being served! No one told us a time the day before, my grandson only wanted 2 sausages and a bit of bacon for his, so when i asked for this i was told quite rudely that he could only have 1 as they only cooked so much! Overall not the best service for a wedding.

We booked our elopement here, and staff couldn't of been more accommodating, they supplied whiteness lunch breakfast and evening meals which were amazing , we had the Eden room to our selves on our wedding day which was great . The bedroom was amazing and huge with a bathroom that might be bigger than our house 😅. Lovely stay will be back again .

Stunning place and people. Massive room and bathroom. The most comfortable bed I have slept in ages. Food fabulous. Chef/Owner (for last two years) very passionate about sourcing great local food. Will definitely be back.

Stayed one night. Big mistake, should've stayed longer in this beautiful house. Staff were extremely friendly. Food was fantastic. Slept in the wonderful Durn suite. Massive room, four poster bed and the biggest bathroom I've ever seen. First class breakfast served in room. Going back, but longer next time

We had a great stay at Durn House recently. The location is very good with easy access to beaches and cliff walks. It has a very nice feel about the place but Jackie and Paul take it further. The attention to detail is there and the food was outstanding. Will call again
