Fennel in Aberdeenshire

Really lovely. The restaurant looks very appealing & it has a welcoming atmosphere. Excellent service and the best plant based burger I’ve ever had! Couldn’t ask for more.

Had the 3 course lunchtime deal for £20 and all the food was lovely. Would highly recommend the duck parfait.Not only was the food great the staff were very friendly too. I am a type-1 diabetic and one of the waiters happend to be too. He advised me on how many carbs were in my meal which was very helpful for working out my insulin dose :)Would definitely return.

Really enjoyed it.Managed to get a table despite not having booked one, which was good. We were brought to our table and handed menus, which had an excellent varied selection depending on your tastes. I went with the Venison and it was absolutely lovely. The wait time for it was average, and it filled me nicely to leave some room for dessert. Looking forward to coming back to try other mains.

Staff were pleasant and did a good job of checking on us throughout our time there but not in an overbearing manner which is something I look for.Food was reasonably priced and enjoyed by all. Will be back again.

Just home from one of the best meals I've had for a long time. Really good choice on the menu...none of the big plate/small food style, just really tasty excellent food on a plate that fits the dish 😋. I will be back, I will recommend to everyone who asks for a good place to dine. The service was friendly, helpful and nothing was too much bother.Thank you

Service was excellent, attentive but never intrusive. We had scallops & king prawns for starter, both cooked beautifully. Mains were beef sunday roast and rump steak, both cooked faultlessly. Had cheese board for takeaway and it was lovely. Highly recommended it. I mentioned that we were celebrating my partner's birthday and the staff spontaneously added some touches to make the meal special. Very impressed.

Great place to visit! Very accommodating for all dietary requirements whether thats gluten free, dairy free, vegetarian or vegan, they have something for everyone. Everything you can see in my pictures were gluten free and delicious. I'd say the dessert section is the only bit lacking in gf options but there is creme brulee or posset. The waitress was super understanding and helpful in regards to my dietary requirements. My granny has mobility issues so they ensured us a down stairs table which was perfect!

Good service and comfortable seating with classy ambience.Food was tasty and excellently cooked - the steak was perfectly cooked at medium rare and vegetables perfect also. Couldn't fault quality, taste, cooking and presentation. If I had to comment on anything, the steaks were quite expensive at around 28 quid, but they were aged and tasty.Starters - Scallops were well seared and perfectly cooked and the mussels in a tasty broth.I would visit again and recommend it highly.

We had heard good things about Fennel but our expectations were easily surpassed. The food was delicious. I could have chosen half a dozen items from the menu but went with the scallops with octopus, then duck and an Orkney fudge cheesecake. Service was friendly and professional. A great meal out, highly recommend!
