Redcloak Fish Bar in Aberdeenshire

My dad ordered at around 6 this evening, told it would be delivered 6.45...it wasn't7pm, called and was told it's just coming out the frier , fair enough.7.30pm, called again and was told it's nearly ready and coming when a driver shows up. (Driver had just arrived, ace..getting food soon.7.50, called again and was told they tried to deliver to wrong address, when the guy eventually showed up the second half of the address (terrace..which is correct) was scored out and avenue was added.This place is happy to promise and lie through Thier teeth but fails to deliver, avoid unless you really have no other choice.

Tasty fish & chips, cooked to order. Great chipper for top end of stonehaven. Be back soon !

We'll have not been to the Redcloak in a while so went in for a Friday fish supper. It was pretty busy but half hour wait was a bit much tbh. The food was well worth it though. Breaded hadock cooked to perfection, crispy coating and lovely juicy fish, chips taste as proper chippy chips should. The home made onion rings are also amazing, just massive.I certainly recommend the Redcloak Fish Bar.

Great chip shop. Food tasty, made fresh, so can be a wee wait or order online so you don't have a wait.Staff very friendly and helpful.

We normally get a good service, but our recent encounter with the chipper means we'll probably not use it again. The mrs phoned up for an order 45mins before closing, the girl on the phone went to check if they were still taking orders. We could hear over the phone a person in the background shouting they were not making anymore batter...the girl then came back and said no, they're not taking anymore orders. Very unprofessional and something your customers shouldn't hear, or shouldn't made to feel that the chipper couldn't be bothered with our order.

I had the fish goujon burger with homemade tarter sauce and it was amazing. I would definitely recommend for people to try it and would definitely have again! Hope it stays on the menu. Well done guy's 😋😋xx

Food is fine but 25 minutes to fry a sausage is unacceptable. It's called 'fast food' for a reason. 4 staff milling around with no sense of urgency at all, seemingly plopping one item of food into the fryer at a time. There are virtually no pre-made items in the keep-warm area; you have to wait for everything to be fried from scratch, but even that can't explain how our order took so long. I can honestly say that in 30+ years of using chip shops across the country, I have never waited that long for a sausage supper. Expected in a sit-down restaurant or a Chinese/Indian but not a chipper!
