Beautiful room, lovely breakfast, enthusiastic staff but require more training.

We took our friend for afternoon tea. Absolutely stunning! The staff were all so helpful and the food beautifully presented (and tasty!). Will certainly return!

Hella sound staff, everything perfect I didn't expect them to clean my room on everyday basis. Only issue was with the water as during the late evening/early night it was quite a challenge to fill a bathtub with warm water/ take a shower lasting more than 3 mins.

We had a delicious dinner of salmon fillet, steak pie, tart, profiteroles and wine just after Christmas. The staff were friendly and the service very attentive.

Welcoming staff all round - especially at reception and a pleasant hotel in a great location. View from our room was very pleasant and the food was fantastic (one evening meal and two breakfasts for two).However, the room, though I can tell they were aiming for rustic, felt a bit dated and could have been doing with some updating- especially for the price paid. That being said, I wouldnt hesitate in going back and thoroughly recommend this hotel to anyone looking to visit this part of Aberdeenshire and Cairngorms.

Wonderful venue for a mountain break in the glorious Cairngorms. Attentive staff, comfortable rooms, homely atmosphere. Cuisine is perfect.

The downstairs bar, restaurant and lounge were great and the food and service very good from all staff. The rooms upstairs very dated I don't think our room had been decorated in 40 years and the bathroom reminded me of a hospital bathroom. Sterile old bath shower (if you can call it that) was probably installed early 80s. Shocking

The room was tiny and the smallest bathroom ever! . The staff attitude was not at its best . When online it’s said £17:95 for breakfast but on-site it’s £10 . When we pointed that out on a way to help we’re told that online was the right price. The attitude wasn’t nice but if anything it was dismissive. No we wouldn’t came back here again. Came because it’s dog friendly last minute booking.

Lovely welcome from the ladies on reception, and restaurant. So friendly and knowledgeable about the area. Downstairs is beautiful really tastefully decorated. Upstairs is like a different hotel, really dated, small and soulless rooms. Bathrooms have baths with shower attached to taps really difficult to regulate temperature. No hygienic shower screen just curtains.Breakfast was delicious and plenty of it, just a little rushed. Evening meals were good.
