Turned up at 2:30 in the afternoon on a Saturday. Was told we couldn’t eat because the chef couldn’t take anymore.....don’t be a chef then! Won’t be back. Shame I was quite excited about eating here for the first time. It’ll certainly be the last time we attempt it!Ok. In that case I’ll give it another shot.

Early evening Friday my family and I ( wife and three kids) and our friends and their daughter decided to call in for a quick drink before a meal along the road.We were greeted at the door by a totally rude and unwelcoming woman advising us we could not come in without a booking as they were fully booked( there were about 15 empty tables!!).Needless to say we were welcomed at the courthouse and then went for our meal.When leaving the restaurant we walked by to see that Jo Allen's still had many empty tables and to make it worse a couple of friends we bumped into at the restaurant walked straight into jo Allen's afterwards without a booking.For the life of us we can't understand why we weren't allowed in , especially after going there many times before (the last time was the week before and was served by a friendly and helpful barman).Bit of a shame but because of this woman we will not be going back!!

First time at jo Allen's. Having afternoon tea with cocktail. Prices are fair. And the food was delicious, other ordered menu items later in the day and the food was on point. I choice to have the god father as a drink and it was delightful and refreshing. And the bubblegum was fab.

Nice bar,great food with a very good and respectful rennovation. Well worth a visit if you're in town.

How can anyone complain on this little gem,...food great well priced,great selection of drinks,modern funky bar,relaxed atmosphere all in all a great bar worth 5 stars

Visited for the 1st time tonight with my family for my Mum's birthday. The service was good, the food was exceptional and they had a particularly nice ipa on draft. Overall was a lovely experience and the staff were very friendly.

Food was lovely, staff were extremely helpful and polite, could not fault it again

This bar was ideal for a function we held last week. The staff are friendly and the service is good. Nothing was too much trouble. they put on a buffet for us which was really nice. Thank you so much from our family.
