Sizeable pub with bar, wood-panelled lounges and patio tables, for real ales and pub grub.

Front of house near windows is cold. No John smiths that's a minus but doombar good. Meal good as normal. Toilets are in decline. I know to the kids who go in and pub crawl it's not really an issue but to those who want to go for a few beers and a meal it leaves a impression that stops you coming back

waited 15mins for my drink and 45mins for food. Shocking wait times and I wanted somewhere quick to have lunch as I had an hour break. Ridiculous. Don't go here if you want food in a reasonable amount of time.

The upmarket Witherspoon's if there was such a thing. They do food, drinks, table service , late license for drinking and at weekends music is played to late. Students mostly go on Sundays whilst you'll find locals go on Saturday. Slightly higher drink prices than Witherspoon's but still good value. Clean pub with bouncers on the doors on Saturday

I visited this Wetherspoons recently and was spoken to very rudely by one of the door staff (short guy, bald with beard and tattoos). He had a very aggressive and arrogant manner and I also noticed him shouting loudly at another member of the security staff. He was clearly nothing but a bully and very unprofessional.

told us we couldn’t stay without having our passports to prove we are old, we had other forms of id and they wouldn’t accept. our friend had already ordered and they were gonna kick us out without a refund. personally i think the rude woman who wanted us to leave enjoyed it too much.

Not very Christmas looking, soft Christmas music playing. Coffee machines very temperamental..... Perhaps need replacing with a human behind the bar.... Limit to one mug per customer, the machines might run out so often!!!! However the manager was very attentive and dealt with until a decent coffee was offered. 🎄☃️🎅HAPPY CHRISTMAS to all the staff

Anyone who's thinking of going here for a drink, be careful of the bouncers. I went with some friends and we bought a drink just before they started kicking people out. After being told to down it and leave, I said we shouldn't have been sold the drinks if that was the case, and he responded by smashing my glass out of my hand. After getting upset and raising my voice, they threw us out by force and tore my coat. After confronting them outside, we left, only to be followed by them up the street soon after and attacked. We didn't once hit them yet they punched us multiple times when it was clear we weren't able to defend ourselves. The bar staff were lovely, but the way we were treat by the door staff was terrifying.

A typical Wetherspoon's pub. You know what to expect when you visit one of these and it's hit or miss. It's a lovely pub, sometimes absolutely chokka block with students, sometimes half full with families. The food is good and the service in general is ok. In my opinion, the tables could be cleaned a little more often.

Really nice. Me and my Brother popped in for some breakfast. Grabbed a pint, got a lovely fry up and a coffee. Can’t fault it. Couldn’t use the table order but I think that was the bad reception on my phone. Lots of tables to choose from and comfortable.

Such a great pub by weatherspoons. Table service is great and fast and waiters and waitresses are super kind and friendly. Clean toilets and tables. Out door seating is available! 100% recommended if you are visiting Durham or if you are a Local :)
