Country Tea Shop & Restaurant in County Durham

This is an excellent teashop in Staindrop. Service is very good, the ladies are very friendly and helpful. Food is lovely! There's a great senior citizens lunch menu (either 2 or 3 courses) at a very reasonable price. Absolutely fabulous.

Have been to this cafe several times; the service is warm, welcoming and timely. The food is tasty and overall I would recommend it to anyone passing through who's looking to take break or for something to eat. The chairs are uncomfortable, some more comfortable furniture for customers and it would be a 5 star place.

Excellent selection, well priced food and pleasant service. We last visited in 2007 and today was every bit as good as then. We will become regulars again. Thank you.

Called in on off chance for a coffee , ended up having Sunday lunch.Staff where very nice nothing was to much trouble ..Lunch was roast beef with great Yorkshire pudding. Veg where perfect .Lovely dessert.Thank you very much for fitting us in .Will be back .The way you looked after the elderly couple onthe next table was outstanding.

Lovely bacon and coffee however my wife’s sausage were warmed in the microwave and the bread was terribly cheap rubbish. Unfortunately that really let them down. Toilets were also very poor and in need of refurbishment.

Absolutely lovely. Despite us being late in, they fed us lovely sandwiches and fantastic scones . Didn't chase us out even though they had closed . Super friendly staff . We will be back.

We visited Raby Castle today, but made the mistake of not having an early lunch. By the time we got to the cafe there was nothing left that my partner would enjoy, and so we headed just down the road to Staindrop and the Country Tea Shop. Here there was much more choice and the staff were warm, welcoming and very helpful. We are happy to recommend, and we may well be back the next time we visit Raby....

Came to this cafe while on a motorcycle road trip. Lovely cafe with a homely atmosphere and great staff. Our waitress, Georgia, was professional and friendly. Definitely coming here again. Would recommend.

The best cream tea we've tasted outside the west country... The service is second to none, friendly relaxed atmosphere and freshly cooked meals and delicious cakes.
