Duke of Wellington in County Durham

Always friendly service with a smile when me and the girls come in every month for our monthly girls dinner evening. We have been coming every month since June and we love the atmosphere, staff and food. Always made to feel very welcome.Super service, friendly staff and fab food - it’s why we come back every month.Keep up the good work, you’re doing awesome!!

Food was lovely and service was great

A very pleasant there with our friends this evening. Fod dinner I ordered the beef pie 🥧 and it was lovely.

Food and staff were great it was first time my friend and I visited this place and loved the warm welcome we got

No review could not get in. Waited til 11.05 doors didn't open. Went somewhere else for lunch for 3. Shame.Please NOTE a review is a personal experience of that person , my review was my experience on that day.It wasnt harsh and i didnt say anything harsh about dining.Don't be offended by someone's experience.This is why we have reviews, to make decisions on other people's experience.

It was sooo a lovely place and a great Sunday roast restaurant. Duke of Wellington is very close to Ustinov College, so many students of Durham could enjoy this place. The price of the course was excellent. The amount of food and taste of food and dessert was super nice. But I was sit next the column and that table was so uncomfortable. It was too small to move my body, and because of the column, waiters and waitresses couldn't see me, so I couldn't order the menu easily even though I booked previously.Except for the table, it was outstanding in many aspects.

What an all around lovely experience!!We were a tricky group with special drink requirements, dietary needs and mobility issues and the lovely man who looked after us, I believe he was called Daniel, could not have been more helpful.He was friendly, caring, went out of his way to make sure all of our needs were met and did it with a big smile. It really put us at ease which meant we had a great time.The food was lovely and we didn't have an overly long wait for it.The place was clean and well maintained and the accessible toilet was was great.Well laid out, clean and tidy, plenty of space and NOT used as a store room as we have found in so many other places!!Thank you all so much and especially to Daniel for his kindness and understanding xx

Popped in for a bit of lunch. Well kept beer, however lunch wasn't so good. Limp salad and quality just wasn't there. However staff were lovely and that's no reflection on the waitresses. Just poor quality food. Would we return? The answer is possibly if kitchen improves.

Came here a good few months ago now. Nice bar and restaurant with lovely, friendly staff. Very clean and reasonably priced. Warm, cosy atmosphere. The food is good with fair portions. I used to come here quite regularly when I was younger for family celebrations and meals which where always great, I used to love the burgers and curry from here so when we return I will have to give them a go again!🍴.

Staff were incredibly friendly and on point! The soup of the day tasted amazing and the Raspberry Sunday was nice. I expected more from the tri roast dish, it tasted quote dull and could do better in my opinion. The place and Atmosphere was nice and relaxed, clean and very chilled to be there.Would recommend ;)
