Came for Sunday lunch and was disappointed sadly. Lamb was very fatty, chicken was on the bone and not stated on the menu. Roast potatoes were tough and dry and there was no mashed potato. Its over priced I think

Called in on a whim, it was fantastic. Lovely atmosphere, staff were great and the food was delicious. Enjoyed it so much we went again 3 days later with family, it didn't disappoint! Food choice is fantastic and everything was delicious

Lovely staff, great atmosphere and delicious food

A very pleasant pub, although we only stopped for a drink the food others were eating looked good. I was a little surprised at the prices, which were much the same as down south. Not that that distracted from the visit.

Fantastic and varied menu with an excellent Specials board, quick and friendly service and a very filling meal! Nice selection of drinks too.

Lovely food, the staff are great and the owner is so friendly he makes an effort to thank us for our custom, however it could do with having the lighting a bit blighter, thats the only down side, but we will definitely be back👍

We certainly won’t be returning after what was supposed to be a special birthday meal out was spoiled by the Scottish woman behind the bar. After questioning our bill which we thought was wrong she told us that it wasn’t wrong. . Back at the table a young waitress asked if all was ok to which we replied that we’d been overcharged, she told us not to shout at her, no one was shouting but had to speak loudly because of the noise of other customers. Next thing we knew was the Scottish bar woman confronting us loudly saying the girl was breaking her heart after we upset her, and kept repeating it in front of other customers in a very confrontational way and accused us of complaining all night. Ok, my husband complained about a fly in his lager which took 20 minutes to replace, we didn’t complain about the fact we weren’t offered deserts, and it turned out the extra £20 we were charged belonged to another customer, the very nice (I think manager) sorted that out for us in a very friendly way. Never saw one single waiter/waitress with a smile on their face the whole evening.

Ok food, but service was not very good. First I asked what was gluten free and staff had to go out and check which took about 10 min to come back to tell me they had no Yorkshire's but could offer gluten free gravy. We got our dishes not much on them. Turnip watery, mash tasted funny. Other half said Yorkshire's were tough. Took ages to clear the plates, and we asked for cake to be brought out what we got for a birthday and they Brought the wrong one out which took them 25 min and then to get other cake another 10 min. We asked for plates to share the cake out which I think they forgot as did not receive, we used napkins. Won't be going back not impressed.

Excellent little village pub with great shops nearby. Fairly easy to find and larger than it would seem at first glance there's plenty of tables.Service was friendly and efficient especially considering how busy it was on a lunch time.We were quickly offered a seat out the front, inside or in the marquee out back, highly recommend the latter option!Drinks were slightly slow but again they were busy so I don't fall them for this.Food menu seemed surprisingly big for a unassuming small pub but plenty of choice.I worry when the menu is large you won't get as decent of a meal but this was clearly not the case here.Everything we saw others eat and enjoyed ourselves was excellent quality, fresh and very tasty.I recommend the belly pork and pan fried salt and pepper chicken!Good drinks selection and well stocked gin options if that's your thing. We will be back especially to try out the desserts!
