Fox Cub in County Durham

Great Fathers Day Meal. Place was busy but staff were friendly and helpful and we were served quickly. Food was all great and everyone in our party liked their meal. Sticky toffee pudding / eclair cake 10/10. Great choice of drinks too and my little boy liked the play area.

Been going to the Fox Cub for a while now. It’s definitely one of the nicer Marston pubs. Food is always piping hot, the drinks are good (if not a little expensive) and the atmosphere is relaxed. I’ve not had a dessert from here but they look amazing!! Also really appreciate they have an area that’s dedicated to the dog part of the family.

Just been again today with the family. We have visited this Marstons a few times over the last year.I Had Roast carvery today. We were early but greeted with lovely welcoming staff help us get sorted with what we needed. Most on the carvery were succulent tender the vegetables and sides were delicious. The kids meals were adequate and tasty and my wife's burger looked delicious.Couldn't fault the visit. We were early so I suppose wasn't able to assess the staff in a busier climate but we always visit a place again and again if it grips us in a tractor beam and it certainly is one of the nicest Marston pubs around in the region. Well spacious and friendly atmosphere. Thank you 😊 💓 ☺️

If you're coming for the cavery you should be ok if you come early on.I didn't fancy it and there wasn't much left even though they were still selling it to my parents who had to wait for them to cook more potatoes and veg after my"fray bentos pie" arrived, actually I think a fray bentos pie would have been more appetising.My wife ordered the pasta Alfredo with extra chicken and this may have been a microwave meal.So if you are going here I would stick to the carvery. The staff were friendly.Fortunately the next day I was lucky enough to eat in the Poachers and my faith in eating out was restored.

Staff are amazing! So friendly and helpful. Jack made my disabled daughters night tonight with his kind engagement and gift. Great family local. Lovely atmosphere & friendly staff. Dog friendly too!

My friend and I visited yesterday and we were greeted by a lovely female staff she was very bubbly. We then proceeded to a table and the atmosphere was nice it was nice warm place with a fire on as well. We ordered separately and we worried that it would come out separately however it came out together and it was very nice.

Very welcoming staff. food was amazing staff was there to help at all times. Very relaxing and never felt rushed as I have been in other restaurants. I have recommended it to my family to visit for them selfs.

I’ve been to this pub many times & never had a bad meal. Tonight was the carvery, it was very nice & everything was fresh. The staff are always very polite, would recommend

My vegan burger wasn’t quite hot enough- the staff changed it and I was instantly pleased with my food. Great end result! Problems happen but now you manage issues quickly, effectively and without any problem was very very good

Came and had a lovely veggie sausage and mash which was exactly what I was craving.The service was fast and very friendly.The price is good value for money as well.Will definitely be back soon.
