Very disappointed, asked for large fish and chips and they were definitely not large, batter tasted nice but very greasy, chips were dried up and vile, unedible, won't be back any time soon

Absolutely beautiful fish and chips. Big chunky fish with a crisp light batter and plenty of golden chips. Carton of curry sauce was lovely with just the right amount of chillies and spice. Reasonably priced and service quick and efficient. Our Bank Holiday place to go for fish and chips!

Best chippy in area. Lovely batter on fish very tasty. Value for money. Clean premises and friendly staff. We used this place whilst on holiday and returned there this year whilst on holiday in Durham.

Fish and chips were very tasty and cooked freshly. Curry sauce was a little on the spicy side compared to other fish shops but still very tasty. Slightly disappointed with the size of a large chips for the price.

We used Freddie’s fish shop for the first time on Tuesday 10th May 2022 as we have just bought a caravan at Stanhope and we found the fish and chips to be about the best we have had from any fish shop for a very long time, we went again tonight Thursday the 12th May and we only got chips as we also got a pizza from the mobile van, and I’m so sorry to say the chips were terrible they were cold and black couldn’t believe the difference we are so disappointed

Delicious fish and chips. Looks like homemade. The taste of the batter is extremely tasty and not oily.

I love the camel and chips it's my favourite thing to eat here. Make sure you ask for 2 humps and not one. You should also try the battered crocodile, nowhere comes close to here. The staff are all lovely, especially the slightly older lady. She always gives me the wrong food which can be fun and I end up with more money than I went in with after she gives me my change.She keeps things interesting 😁Overall, this chippy comes highly recommended! Enjoy!
