Nice place but unfortunately the food was bland. Maybe it had been reheated? 10% service charge was added to the bill.

The first time we visited it was just for drinks 5* we were impressed with the service and the charming rustic ambiance of the interior, the second time we brought a few friends for dinner and again everything was 5* after our third visit today we now know this establishment is a complete jewel in the crown of the restaurants in Durham city centre. Our last dining experience was so good it is hard to put into words. The service is impeccable.Every dish we ordered was impressively well presented, and more importantly a literal punch in the tastebuds.I could not be more impressed with Gussto tapas bar if I could give them 10 stars I would happily do so.I hope and honestly wish this business every success for the future.Bravo guys give yourselves a huge pat on the back for your fantastic business. We will see you again very soon.

Great menu. Ordered far too much food which was our fault so some dishes went cold too quickly. However food was well cooked and presented. We were there on a Thursday afternoon and were only people there so no atmosphere which was a shame. Biggest downside I think is access to the restaurant for anyone with disability walking issues and access to loos which are down steep stairs and right next to kitchen. not ideal location. However will return and wouldcrecommend

Food was okay, all perfectly edible but not amazing. Not much chicken and chorizo, or anything in the paella - two pieces of chicken and maybe 3 pieces of chorizo, and most of it was a tad bland and bit stingey with portion sizes. The texture of the chorizo croquettes were mush inside. Service average - wasn't rude or anything, but wasn't particularly attentive, either. Liked the decor. Was not busy at all when we went in, only one other couple at the other side from us, so no atmosphere, really. To be honest I prefer the food, service and atmosphere of Tappas Factory, if I were to choose between the two. Better value for money and better taste. Maybe it was just because we came on a very quiet bank holiday day, but overall it was a pretty average experience. Not bad, but lacking any real 'umph' to make me want to go back, in a rush.

We were the only customers on a Friday afternoon. It is a challenge to get here, down stairs and to their toilets, also downstairs, if you have mobility issues as I have. Wheelchair users will not be able to dine here.Servers were polite and friendly. For our tapa we had Pan Catalana, could have been crispier bread. Patatas bravas with cheese, asparagus con remolacha, trocitos de cerdo - a very nice pork belly dish, and a couple of other items i cannot recall. with a bottle wine it came to 80 pound for two of us.

Cute hidden gem near the centre of Durham. Visited here for dinner and the food was lovely. Waitress that served us was friendly and attentive. Would definitely go back again

The food was a bit blant lacking taste, service was very good and friendly. Would I recommend this place, it definitely has a Spanish feeling but as far as the food is concerned there is a room for improvement.

Lovely decor. We ordered the meat platter and several other small plates. The meat was tough, the croquettes and fish cakes were gooey not creamy with little flavour. Everything was just a bit too spice the kofta was so spicy it was not edible. Very little sauce. The service was terrible, Sat lunch and one girl on the own she was doing her best but couldn't cope. Quite a few tables walked out. The whole thing was VERY EXPENSIVE. Wouldn't go back, looks lovely on the photos but had much better for less money

The food is a bit salty for me but overall is great. Seafood is fresh. The staff is so kind and helpful.
