Sunday roast was amazing! Plenty of food, we all had different meats and they were delicious. Generous kids portions too! Staff were friendly and was a perfect stop after seeing High Force Waterfall!

Charming Hotel set in a beautiful location.We stayed for 1 night, had a delicious evening meal from a menu that offered really great choice. Our breakfast was just as good.Our room was No.8 located at the front of the property. VERY comfortable bed, exceptionally clean, stylish decor and so well maintained throughout.The entire team worked hard to ensure we had an enjoyable stay, nothing was too much trouble, they went above and beyond.We look forward to a return visit.

Lovely country hotel. Good menu for hungry walkers. Staff friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Loved it. The walk to High Force was spectacular as the waterfall was at the most spectacular due to the water levels and especially with the sunshine.

Nice location. Clean and newly decorated. The menu has lots to choose from and is ideal for both walkers and tourists alike. Walking gear and boots are OK and tables are spaced well apart. Dogs welcome too...

We have just arrived home after a three night stay and what a lovely stay it was. This place is an absolute gem. If you are looking for peace and quiet with no pressures, beautiful walks and of course the amazing waterfall this is the place. I cannot rate this high enough. The hotel is cozy and warm. The food delicious and the staff are fab.. a massive thank you to all of the staff but I want to give a shout out to Kathleen who is a darling. We really had the best break and will be going back for christmas.. thank you to all of you xxx

We were a pre booked table of 7 and were seated in our own little area. Staff were incredibly friendly on arrival. There were some delays in ordering (even just drinks). However they seemed very busy and every thing we recieved was first rate. The setting was lovely and dog friendly. Cannot fault the staff or food, we will definitely be back.

Had a pint and lovely ham sandwich for lunch after walking down to High Force then returning via the woodland path. Lovely location, great lunch and excellent service plus it is dog friendly. Will definitely be back 👍

Dined here for Christmas Day lunch. A warm, clean safe restaurant. A warm welcome with prosecco on arrival. Food was fresh, hot, with plenty of choice. The beef and turkey were exceptional. The staff were very friendly and I would like to thank them for making our day special.

Considering the hotel/pub was working hard to manage after a big storm which had taken out all power we were given the warmest of welcomes. A roaring fire was the perfect tonic to the nippy weather and the homemade soup was delicious.Next time we would like to stay as a hotel guest.A lovely place with a big heart.
