Himalaya in County Durham

We tried the Himalaya tonight for the first time, we opted for home delivery. We ordered at 6pm and were given a delivery time between 6.55 and 7.15. The food was delivered at 6.50. It was piping hot. We ordered onion bhaji and samosa to start, we received 2 of each with 2 portions of salad and raita followed by a house special bbq chicken with mango sauce and a prawn dopiaza. The food was absolutely delicious, and we are sitting here stuffed! Well done, we will certainly be back.

Told my partner about this place. He ordered. Wish I didn't bother.*Awkward and hurried phone service.*Waited so long we ended up calling to make sure it was still happening.*Small order took 1hr15 mins instead of the quoted 45 max.*Order was then missing the rice.*Rice got "sent out"*20 mins later after still not recieving the rice (total minimum waiting time to eat 1hr 35 at this point), my partner decided to call up and he told them it didn't matter anymore as we had ate everything else by this point. We were wayy too hungry..*food was also lukewarm but probably would have been lush, if it had have been served hot.-didn't do this for free food, my partner didn't even want his rice money back haha.I Just feel a bit mugged off cause I highly rated this place to my bf and they've right fecked the job.

Excellent service and very friendly, helpful staff. A very well presented restaurant and the food was delicious with some lovely little touches. Definitely recommend and will be back.

We ate everything we were served. Very tasty. Tandoori mixed grill was lovely and the nan bread was lush.

Ordered a selection of starters to eat in the garden as we like tapas. Enjoyed this and salad was really fresh

Chicken Tikka absolutely delicious. Lovely staff very welcoming . Service is great .

Nicely located in a small town. Great indian food and service. Enjoyed the meals.
