Le Raaj in County Durham

Wanted to try this restaurant for ages, finally got the chance today and it didn’t disappoint. The restaurant had lovely ambience with welcoming friendly staff.The food was fantastic, freshly cooked poppadoms with dips, the starters were beautiful, fresh, tasty and well presented, especially the onion bhajis’The main courses were devine, so well cooked, fresh flavours and the amount of meat in the main course was double the amount of what I’m used to, struggled to eat it but was too good to leave, the naan bread was piping hot and fresh. The staff were very friendly we were offered a drink ‘on the house’ as we paid our bill, we will definitely be back couldn’t fault a single thing apart from the fried eggs (joke for the waiter)

Wonderful Mother's day meal. A beautiful restaurant, decor is superb. Tables all nicely laid out in fine dining style. It's very impressive.The staff are extremely polite and give every attention to make u welcome. The food is wonderful, tender lamb tikka starter, very tasty, with a main course of chicken tikka massala, equally as good.The service was fabulous. Will be returning soon. Thank you. 😊

Amazing service and ambience, very efficient staff but food was not up to the mark. The chicken curry sauce was extremely sweet and the chicken momo was no where close to momo! 5 for ambience and service, 2 for food.

Me and my boyfriend went for the first time together and loved it!!! We would recommend the tandoori thali, great value for money and could be a share dish for two. There replacement for the classic lime pickle was delicious. Friendly and welcoming staff. If your in or around Durham, this is a must, to visit. Rated as one of the best curries we’ve had.

LOVE curries from here! Picked up a take away as a treat for us. Very reasonably priced, the guys are so friendly & accommodating! Always get well looked after here. Highly recommend.

Nice place, had the lunchtime special. The Extraordinary Onion Bahji was rather bland, the main course was extraordinary small, the waiter was serving multiple tables on the same trips from the kitchen and seemed in a hurry to get rid of everyone. May give it another go on an evening visit sometime, might redeem itself.......

First time here for a meal, absolutely faultless, food was superb, staff were even better, it was a busy night, but our table still got all the staff's attention. Too quality, highly recommend and we will definitely be back 👍

Good speedy service and sat at nice dinning area. Visit about 10 yrs ago and change looks amazing. Extensive menus and feel lush posh dinning experience ahead with nice menu and light decor.Experiment with different curry while I've not tried before and enjoyed I will stick to one I know on my next visit.
