March Hare in County Durham

A little expensive (but reasonable if you take advantage of their two-for-one meal offer) but my god the food is exquisite (especially the buttermilk chicken goujons!!!) and the wait staff are also incredibly nice! Very clean, to boot

Friendly staff, great food, always made to feel welcome.

Five of us went for lunch today and we had a really good meal. Sat outside with a drink first because it was nice and warm. Inside, the welcome from the staff was very friendly. Drinks were reasonably priced. Spoilt for choice we finally chose our meals and we all enjoyed them. My mega Hunters chicken was superb actually. A good quality bottle of white wine was also a nice change.Will definitely go back.

Visited today with family, as the meals are grossly over priced you have to be careful when ordering. As it's buy 1 get the cheapest free (£15+) for scampi (£17) knockout burger. As there were 3 of us, I opted for a side salad £2.65 and chicken strips starter at £4.65... Mams Scampi was nothing special with mushy peas and hard slice of bread and flora.. No butter.The knockout double burger came with 2 onion rings and a spoon of chilli.. My son enjoyed the chilli but the burgers just tasted odd, no one came to check back, so when we had finished, mentioned the distasteful burgers, only to be told they were a new supply, no apology or care given. We won't be returning as £40 is better spent elsewhere.. Its a shame really Marstons is generally a good place to dine. Beth sort your burgers out.

I can't fault the service or staff at all i opted for table service being disabled and because there was 6 of us it was easier and staff didn't mind they took our order no problem also added extra when requested with no issue at all overall a great experience and nice portion size and great tasty food in a really clean and welcoming environment thanks to all staff for making my special day a enjoyable one

Truly amazing, the staff were so friendly and well mannered/ polite from the moment we entered, through out our stay until leaving... very quick table service and only waited a short while before receiving our hot food which was professionally presented on plates 🙂

We were made to feel very welcome and the staff were wonderful and made our lunch very special. the pub was very clean and very well managed and the food was perfect and beer was just as good. we will come here again and we have booked christmas lunch here now as well .

Visited several times always been happy with meals, however today had the cowboy burger, very very disappointed, over cooked and very poor quality. Taking burger home for dog!!!!Don't feel I will be returning.Did not get asked whether my meal was OK, otherwise I would have given this feedback then .

Was there to a celebrate a 90th birthday, would have been nice if an area had been set out so we could all sit together rather than on separate tables. Food overpriced

It was very nice of the Manager to have a detail conversation related to my recent visit which was quite disappointing. I really appreciate the concern of putting things right to get the customers back. As been welcomed by the manageress Beth, to an open evening with family on the house, I appreciate the effort.I will surely get in touch soon and inform you about the day we plan to visit.
