Michelangelo's in County Durham

Waited well over one and a half hours for our meal. It was for a very special occasion 40th wedding anniversary with all the family, smaller groups of people were coming in ordering and getting served. The waitress did not seemed bothered it was more if you were a regular you got served quickly. When the food was delivered the vegetables were rock hard but after waiting so long we ate most of them. When my daughter told them about the food the waitress replied well you cleared your plate. We were supposed to stay the night as a gift from our family but decided not to stay with such a bad experience.

Such are pretty place to stay, very clean and comfy rooms. You could not fault the food, a bit too much at times but not complaining, all at a reasonable price too.The staff were very friendly and helpful and all worked really hard to make your stop welcoming.Pablo and his brother have certainly got a lovely place and wish them every luck in the future, their hard work certainly pays off. Hope to return in the not too distant future. Cu soon

The food was excellent. We ate in the evening and had breakfast in the morning. Fast service and friendly staff. Our room was clean and tidy. Everything was reasonably priced. Overall it was a lovely place to eat and stay. Definitely recommend and we will be back

Had an overnight stay while walking Hadrian's Wall.Michelangelo's was great. Lovely people and service. Good prices and Great food. Had dinner and then a hearty breakfast before continuing on our way. would definately recommendWonderful atmosphere about this place.

Third time we have stayed here and its always been goodRooms are spacious and clean the restaurant is very good and good food at a good prices the only thing i wish they had more of a lager choice and the breakfast is fantastic

Excellent and friendly service. Good choice of food and great portion size at a reasonable price. A full breakfast service is a welcome start to the day.

Staff very friendly and cheery but small things in rooms could be better maintained (window lock popped loose, towel hook fell off door) but at least it's clean unlike a few other fancier places we've been. Thank you.

Food was disgusting, service abysmal, no managers in during the week?! The food was ok on Saturday came back tonight and everything was disgraceful, service, food, portions etc. We have a large family and unfortunately we would never come back.They seriously need to cater for diners during the week rather than “pretend” Monday to Friday, very very disappointing but it’s been several times we have given them the “benefit of the doubt”Instead of expanding to get more poor paying punters in, try working on the basics to appease the customers who frequent.SHAMBLES FROM START TO FINISH

Perfect in every way. Spacious accommodation. First class service. Michelin star standard food. We will be booking up again soon. You will not be disappointed.

Best Thai fish cakes I've ever had. Tapas was amazing value. My god had bring half my main home. Staff were lovely we will be back XOXO ❤️
